RAIN OR SHINE - EBT ACCEPTED - DOG FRIENDLY
BEE HAPPY!

It's National Pollinator Week and we're celebrating the most vital player in our food system, the bee! Our EFM farms provide nectar and pollen, and safe haven for bees. And many of our farmers keep hives on site. But there's no question that bees are in danger. There are three things you can do right now to save the bees: 1.) Plant more pollinator-friendly plants 2.) Stop the use of bee-killing pesticides in parks, wildlife refuges and other places bees should be safe (including your own backyard) 3.) Promote the preservation of farmland, and sustainable, less pesticide-reliant agricultural practices.

Visit our INFO tents tomorrow for free pollinator friendly plant guides, bee identification guides, and bee stickers for adults and kids. Funny Farms Apiaries is the star of the show this week but many of our vendors are featuring creative honey-laden treats from cocktails to strudel. Read on for all the sweet details!

FRESH PICKS
Salvaterra's Gardens
This week's highlight is the sweet Walla Walla onion! The Walla Walla is the Vidalia of the north. The mildness of this sweet onion is due to its low sulfur content, which is half that of an ordinary onion. When they're fresh, Walla Wallas are crisp, juicy and sweet. Perfect for sandwiches, salads and Breakaway Farms burgers! Matt & Jess will be harvesting some for the market on Friday afternoon... it doesn't get much fresher than that folks!

Phillips Farms
It’s blueberry time at Phillips Farms - time to make a blueberry pie or cobbler, or some healthy breakfast muffins! Cherries and raspberries also made their first appearance last week. Grab the cherries while you can. Spring frost damage has resulted in a pretty limited crop. Other market favorites available now include zucchini, cucumbers, garlic scapes, shelled peas, sugar snap peas, greenhouse tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, fennel, beets, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, bok choy, fresh herbs and more.
Cabbage Throw Farm
Cabbage Throw Farm's veggie pick of the week is FENNEL! The famous finocchio is a family favorite traditionally eaten with a citrus salad after dinner as a palate cleanser and digestif. It can be enjoy in many ways, chopped raw in a summer salad (goes great with arugula and a lemon vinaigrette), roasted and caramelized or sautéed into soups or sauces.
Additional veggie selection includes: green cabbage, broccolini, dandelion greens, carrots, beets, head lettuce, spring mix, romaine, kale, collards, rainbow chard, spinach, herbs and more.

Bella's Bistro *honey bee stop
Is your pup struggling with seasonal allergies? Bella's just might have what you need: Bee Pollen!! The key benefit of bee pollen is that it contains antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, protein, and live enzymes. Because of its dense nutrition bee pollen uses include supporting energy needs, muscle strength, healthy digestion, and immune support. When the immune system is functioning properly, it is less likely to overreact to non-threatening stimuli, like seasonal allergens, with annoying sneezing, watery eyes and itching. Bella's will also have their homemade meat jerkies, baked cookies and calming hemp treats for the upcoming July 4th holiday.
