Looking Ahead

If your daughter is interested in participating in Girl Scouts be on the look out: October 17th permission slips will go home with a due date of October 26th.

If your 3rd or 4th grade daughter is interested in cheering at DECA PREP - look for more information to come out soon. We will start the season in November.

Grade Level Highlights

Fourth Grade

The fourth grade classes are making cards in Art class to be delivered to Dayton Children’s Hospital. This is the first of four community service projects that the fourth grade class will complete this school year.

They have also learned to write a complete paragraph which includes a topic sentence, supporting details, and concluding sentences.

Third Grade

Third grade is exploring how countries around the world access books and set up libraries. Students are working in Expert Country Groups to become information experts about their country and earn Passport Squares for our showcase:

Travel Party!

(Wednesday October 12th)

Students will be able to present their work, complete activities for the countries that were studied, and enjoy time with the Howard House celebrating our hard work.

2nd Grade

In 2nd grade, we are working on community building and enjoying the warm weather while it lasts.

Ms. Noel’s class does a daily morning affirmation every day and we are proud of the positive words our kids are speaking into truth.

1st Grade

1st grade is busy designing and creating their “Most Magnificent Things” from the English Language Arts curriculum, conquering missing addends, and using addition equations to solve subtraction equations.

Kindergarten

We are busy learning letters and numbers! So far, students have learned the name and sound for r, n, c, t, a, h, p, s, and v and how to count and identify groups of objects from 0-5.

We also did an apple exploration in which they identified and labeled parts of an apple and tasted different kinds.
