Construction Update

July 25, 2024

Upcoming Activities

Friday, July 27 starting at 8:00 p.m. and working overnight, crews will complete asphalt repair on 9000 South on the east side of I-15 where the concrete meets the asphalt. This work will reduce the large hump in the road making it safer for motorists and a smoother ride.

Motorists can expect lane closures, shifting traffic, and flagging operations on eastbound 9000 South along with the off-ramp from southbound I-15 to eastbound 9000 South while this work takes place. Plan on significant delays and watch for sudden stopping traffic.

I-15 9000 South road work map

Starting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28 and lasting through 5:00 p.m., crews will close one westbound lane on 9000 South while excavation takes place for a Jordan Valley Water vault.

Motorists can expect lane closures and significant traffic delays. Motorists should consider an alternate route.

Overnights starting Sunday, July 29 starting at 8:00 p.m. lasting through August 3, crews will have lane closures on 9000 South at 1300 West to install a storm drain line across 9000 South.

Motorists can expect lane closures, shifting traffic, and flagging operations. Motorists should be prepared for sudden stops.

Ongoing Activities

As early as Thursday, July 18, the south leg of 1510 West 9000 South will be closed for up to two weeks. Resident and business access should follow the detour map.

Crews continue removing the old bridge crossing the Jordan River along with installing storm drain, installing new traffic signal poles, street lighting conduit, retaining walls, and excavating the roadway. Some work will require short-term driveway interruptions. Follow posted detour signs for alternate driveway accesses.

Traffic accessing the River Oaks Driving Range may only access the parking lot from eastbound 9000 South. Westbound traffic may only make a U-turn at 1300 West. See the detour map.

Safety Message

Do not enter the work zone! Crews are excavating along the south side of 9000 South and we do not want any motorists to find their way off the 2-foot drop.

Pedestrians and bicycles are not allowed on 9000 South over the Jordan River. Please see the approved detour route for pedestrians and bicycles.

35 MPH sign

As a reminder, the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles per hour along the entire corridor.
