John Petrocelli

John is a professor of Social Psychology at Wake Forest University, as well as an author. His research and literary focus is something we're likely all familiar with: BS.

As a Social Psychologist, John explores human motivations and decision-making. With his current work, he's looking to explore why people BS, and where the social action comes from.

His book, The Life-Changing Science of Detecting BS, came out in July of last year. John describes it as being full of fun stories that may be able to help you better discern fact from fiction in your daily life.

John is from Pittsburgh but has spent the last 15 years in Lake Norman. He originally moved to Huntersville in 2007, then to Cornelius in 2014.

He and his wife, Lina, will have been married for 15 years in August and together they share a daughter, Sydney. They're also proud pup-parents to a sweet beagle named Coco.

John loves living here because it feels like home. The views of the lake are always breathtaking, and the sense of community in the region is unbeatable.

In his free time, John is very involved in F3 Lake Norman and has been a long-time member of Grace Covenant Church. Be sure to say hi if you see him around Town!

FIREFIGHTERS WANTED!

Come join the team of brave men and women who are building the Cornelius Fire Department from the ground up.

For years, our Town has been served by dedicated part-time and volunteer firefighters, but in 2021, our first full-timers were added to their ranks.
