FEATURED FARM
Hidden Gems Farm
"How long have you been practicing the timeless tradition of growing food and raising animals?"

"My parents come from farming backgrounds, but I am a city girl born and raised. Lorenzo on the other hand grew up on a hog farm in Mississippi. He learned a lot about farming as he was growing up, but once he enlisted at the age of 17 the farming life was behind him. That was until 2018 when we decided to embark on the simple farm life together."
Hidden Gems Farm
Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Donuts
My husband Lorenzo and I started our farm journey once he retired from the US Army after twenty-eight years of service. Our passion for simple country living, cooking, baking, gardening, and taking care of animals is something we wanted to instill in our daughters. We are blessed to be able to run Hidden Gems Farm and to share our farming journey not only with our family but with our community as well. These Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Donuts have become one of our favor- ite weekend breakfast items to make. If you like funnel cakes, donuts, and churros, this recipe is a must try! Not only are these easy to make, but they taste just as good the next day. (Although we cannot promise that you will have any leftovers.)

Farm Savers
Help Mariposa Farm Rebuild from the Flood
Mariposa Farm owner/operators Liz and Joaquin Lopez evacuated their Everson home with their children Sarahi (10) and Andres (12) on Monday as floodwaters rapidly overtook their home and 10-acre organic fruit and vegetable farm.

Mariposa is one of the hardest hit Whatcom County farms by the recent devastating flooding.

All funds raised go directly to Liz and Joaquin to help offset major damage to their home, barn/shop, tractors and other farm equipment, personal and work vehicles, and crop losses.

Our $50k goal is a starting point to help get Mariposa back on their feet. We would like to raise more for them if possible!
Help Brandie and Michael rebuild the farm
Hi, this is a fundraiser for Brandie, Michael, and Luna Coutts- McArthur (aka the monkeys in the garden).

The entire family and their livestock have been safely evacuated after the raging floodwaters of the Nicola took away, amongst other things, their winter supply of hay, their pumphouse, several sheds, animal barns and other structures as well as Lunas much-beloved bike. Their orchard and beehives were swept away, along with years of Hardin top soil.

Please donate if you can and please share this gofundme widely. If anybody has any leads on donations of hay in the Lillooet area, please message me on facebook (Micha pika) as their goats and cows are hungry and it’s just the beginning of winter.

If you would like to donate building supplies or other goods (a new bike for Luna?) please also message me on facebook.

Thank you so much in advance. Lets help the monkeys get back on their feet!
Help Ken Build A Sustainable Farm
My name is Ken. I am a Black Farmer originally from Ohio and I am owner of The Farmer Ken Farm in Southern California.

This summer, I relocated my farm so that I could have more land to create a larger impact on the food climate. My current farm has 8 times the space as my last location. The farm has chickens, several vegetable garden plot areas, and some newly planted fruit trees. Many hours have been spent prepping and preparing the new land to grow an abundance of produce, and there have been several challenges along the journey. A large amount time and expenses have been spent repairing the soil and building fencing to keep pests away from the plots. I need the additional support to continue the progression on the farm.

Donations will assist with the buildout, purchasing of equipment and supplies, soil, trees, seeds ,storage ,refrigeration, staffing needs, utilities, water-wise planning, and building a solid infrastructure to have the farm fully operating as a sustainable food resource for the community.
