Traditional Service at 9:30 in the Sanctuary
Contemporary Service at 11:00 in Patterson

Upcoming Church Work Day –
Volunteers Needed!
October 15th the Property Team is sponsoring a workday. This will be mainly “outside” work (nothing too hard) and everyone is invited to join us. There will be coffee and donuts in the kitchen at 9:00 am and work will begin at 9:30 and end by noon. Come on out for fellowship, fun, and a little work!
For the last Sunday of this month, October 30th, we are calling all singers for an encore gathering of our Community Choir from this Summer! This is a great, low-time commitment opportunity for folks who love to sing and want to help make a joyful noise.

If you want to participate, plan to arrive in the chancel at 9:00 AM to rehearse for our 9:30 traditional worship time. No sign up is necessary, but questions can be sent to BMiller@StGiles.org. We’ll see you there!
Please join St. Giles Church & Children’s Garden Preschool on October 22, 2022 from 5-7 pm for our annual Pumpkins & Pizza event! Bring your pumpkin to carve & decorate (paint and carving tools will be provided). We will provide the pizza and cookies. The movie “Spookly the Square Pumpkin” will be shown at 6 pm. All are welcome!
Wednesday Night Dinner Update
The good news is that we have located a caterer for Wednesday night dinners. However, we do need a little help with this. The new caterer does not deliver. We are seeking a volunteer to pick up the Wednesday night dinners around 5 every Wednesday. We will gratefully pay for your gas for your willingness to help. If you are available and interested please contact Patience in the church office.

This week our rates for adults will remain the same, but will increase to $8 next week. Children's meals will stay the same at $4.

This month’s menu will be:

October 5
Wedge Salad
Meatloaf
Mashed Potatoes
Mixed Vegetables
Cookies

October 12
Cranberry Almond Salad
Stuffed Fish
Rice
Cornbread
Strawberry Shortcake

October 19
Green Pepper & Tomato Salad
Fried Chicken
Macaroni & Cheese
Spoon Bread
Banana Pudding

October 26

With our new caterer, reservations must be made by 11 AM on Monday mornings.
Adult Discipleship
Adult Sunday School Update
The 9:30 Sunday School is morphing into a life group. We will read and discuss the Marinates that Pastor Josh sends out on Saturday. By doing this prior to the service we will hopefully have some insights into the passage that he is preaching on for our service that Sunday. We will also share prayer needs and pray for each other. Our hope will be to be disciples to one another and experience community.
Church Life
40 Days for Life is asking for volunteers for their fall 2022 prayer vigil! Volunteers will stand outside Planned Parenthood (201 N. Hamilton Street, in Richmond's West End). To sign up for volunteer slots and for more information please visit www.40daysforlife.com/Richmond.

Special Request - Volunteers Needed!
Last week we welcomed ELEVEN enthusiastic students to orientation for Jobs for Life! We believe the Lord brought each one of them to this program for a purpose. They are excited about the program and looking forward to having a mentor to walk with them through the class!

But...we do not have a mentor for each student. If you are considering mentoring, now is the time!

These students took a courageous step to attend last night's orientation. Would you take a step of faith to join them on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm for the next 10 weeks? If you are considering but have questions, please reach out to Briana at (916) 715-6970 or brianaduclos@steprichmond.org. If you sense the Lord sending you to this ministry and are ready to dive in, click here to apply!
Employment Opportunity - Contemporary Worship Leader
St. Giles is hiring a new contemporary worship leader. We view this position as a professional in ministry and an integral part of our entire ministry staff. We are looking for someone who is a committed Christian, alive in the Spirit, has a growing understanding of worship in the Reformed tradition and in its many contemporary expressions, and possesses musicianship skills for this role, including proficiency on guitar, singing, and leading an ensemble. This position is a
part-time position requiring 8-10 hours a week. If you would like more information please contact our Lead Pastor, Josh Modrzynski at: josh@stgiles.org.
Livestreaming Bible Study and Worship

We are now livestreaming many of our events, including both Sunday worship services and our concert series on our YouTube channel. These can also be viewed later at the same YouTube channel. Take advantage of the opportunity to catch up on anything you’ve missed, or to share these ministries with friends who might benefit from them.
