Stanford Blood Center Has Critical Need For O- Blood Types
Stanford Blood Center (SBC) is currently facing an immediate need for all blood types, especially type O negative (O-) blood, and is asking Bay Area residents to come out and donate as soon as possible to help meet the needs of local patients.

If you’re thinking about donating for the first time, now is a great opportunity to help save lives. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment at one of three donation center locations in Campbell, Menlo Park, or Mountain View. Our donation centers are open seven days a week.

As a special thanks for keeping patients a priority, anyone who donates at any center or mobile drive July 1-31 will receive one free “Grateful for Life” collectible tie-dye t-shirt!

Appointments can be scheduled online at stanfordbloodcenter.org, via our SBC mobile app, or by calling 888-723-7831.

National Night Out ~ August 2nd
National Night Out is fast approaching and the City of Menlo Park wants to make it the best one yet with celebrations starting around 5:00 p.m.

National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, neighborhood
camaraderie, and crime prevention.

National Night Out is a great opportunity to start engaging with your neighbors, Police and City staff. In keeping with past traditions, several neighborhoods will be hosting outdoor gatherings throughout Menlo Park. The Police Department is looking forward to helping neighborhoods organize these block
party celebrations.

In addition to waiving the street closure permit fees, Chief Norris will make his best effort to make an appearance at every registered block party. There will also be a variety of police give-aways distributed at the block parties that register.

Contact Mayra Lombera for more information on how to participate or host a block party. You can register your block party here.
