Solana Beach Lifeguards Shine
in San Diego Bay Mass Rescue Drill
| |
|
On April 24th, Solana Beach Lifeguards played a vital role in a multi-agency mass rescue operation hosted by San Diego Lifeguards in San Diego Bay. Held every three years, this important event brings together federal, state, and local agencies to train for various major emergencies requiring a coordinated response effort. This recent drill simulated a boat fire aboard the Hornblower Cruise ship, involving a 50 person rescue. A total of 18 agencies, including the US Coast Guard, Harbor Police, San Diego Fire, and lifeguard units from Imperial Beach to Oceanside, joined forces for this essential training exercise. | |
