South face of Stephen B Humphrey Theater
Last week's cross came from the Stephen B. Humphrey (SBH) Theater–Music Hall!

The Auditorium–Music Hall, a three-story brick building, was built in 1927 and 1928 in the Spanish and Romanesque style in order to house the music department.

To keep the space updated with current technology, a brand new PA system was added to the Auditorium in 1950.

In 1984, the Auditorium was reshaped and remodeled and the original wooden seats refurbished. After these renovations were completed, the Auditorium was officially named the Stephen B. Humphrey Theater in honor of the distinguished English professor of Saint John's.

The theater's capacity changed from 800 to 520 when the original seats were replaced in 2002.

Today, the Music Hall contains not only the SBH Theater, but a choral rehearsal hall, practice rooms, the Gertken Organ Studio, Electronic Music Lab, percussion studio, and classrooms. SOT/Sem Liturgical Music students frequently learn, practice, and perform in many of the spaces the Music Hall has to offer.

Now, it's time for our next A-Cross Saint John's photo-clue of the week!
