We are so happy to be entering into a new season of life and program year here at St. David’s. While the world around us seems to move faster with each day, we are intentionally slowing down and discerning where God is calling us.

Kickoff Month started with last Sunday, our chance to grow in community and get to know our neighbors. This Sunday we will listen and offer up community wisdom through a conversation model called World Cafe. The following Sunday we will have a ministry fair and look at where we’ve been and where we’re going. And the final Sunday of kickoff month, October 2nd, we will provide feed back of where we are feeling called to bring our time and energy, as well as where we are feeling the need to pull back to allow new energy to emerge.

Thank you for slowing down and entering into this month of discernment. See you this Sunday at the Community Discernment Cafe!

Anna Brock

Children and Youth Minister & Office Assistant

We will continue to Facebook Livestream the Sunday 9:30 service and upload to YouTube to accommodate for those who choose to stay home.

Play Bridge and Mah Jongg!

Calling All Bridge Players and Future Bridge Players

St. David’s Bridge Group meets on the third Friday of each month September through June minus December. We play in the Conference Room opposite the Library and start at 6:30. You only need to commit to play one month at a time, so snowbirds are welcome when they are in town. You never need to find a sub. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Susan Taylor at [email protected] or 952-944-7241 or David Niles at [email protected]

If you are interested in learning to play bridge or just want to brush up on bridge conventions, please contact Susan Taylor (see above). We would love to have new players and will put together bridge classes.

Calling All Mah Jongg Players

If you are interested in playing American Mah Jongg, please contact Susan Taylor at [email protected] or 952-944-7241. We are just restarting our Mah Jongg group after a COVID hiatus.

Children and Youth Ministry

Children and Youth Committee Meeting

September 27th, 7:00pm via Zoom

Youth Group will meet again on Wednesday, September 21 at St. David's

Children's Time will start again on Sunday's during the 9:30 service. We will have Godly Play lessons, music time, and craft time.

The Nursery will be staffed and open soon! For your children's safety we are waiting until all new nursery staff are hired and have completed Safe Church training. In the mean time, please feel encouraged to use the Narthex Nursery and the Sanctuary play rug for your little ones.

Please keep your glass and clear plastic jars! We are collecting them for a craft project in the fall. Please bring your clean jars and lids, with labels removed, to Anna's office!

Bibles- Children and Youth Grades 3-12 will be receiving Bibles during the 9:30 service on September 18th. If you can't make it, but your child is in that age group, email Children and Youth Minister, Anna, and we'll save one for you! [email protected]

Tuesday Bible Study

We're baaack! The St. David's Bible Study group will resume our learning and discussion meetings beginning Tuesday, 9/27. Except for 10/4, we will continue to meet weekly via Zoom each Tuesday at 11:00AM. The Zoom link can be found on the website or here:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87274672774

To begin the new season, we're pleased to welcome the Rev. Basil Owen who will lead us in reading and studying the Book of Revelation. He suggested first reading it in a contemporary version of the Bible such as The Message or Good News, and then using your preferred version for the study. But please don't take this as a requirement to join the club! The idea is to get a flavor of all the different ways to interpret this sometimes challenging material. If any of you have ever heard Basil preach or lead a discussion, you'll know that this will be a fun and exciting experience!

In order to share this learning with others who can't attend real-time, we're going to try recording the Zoom meetings for the first month. Along the way we'll evaluate how it's going and if there is any negative impact on the discussion. Feel free to join the Zoom or watch it later on YouTube at your convenience. Please contact Sharon Engel if you have any questions.

We will include all individuals in the prayers list for four consecutive weeks, and then they will be removed from the list. If the prayer need is ongoing, please reach out and we will keep their names on the list. If anyone's prayer need is shorter than four weeks, please also note that. This way we will keep all prayer lists updated and recent.
