Message from Mrs. Barnhouse

Faith Families,

It’s been a busy week at Faith, with lots of excitement looking ahead to next year!  I also know that change and new opportunities can produce feelings of fear and anxiety.  As humans, this is a natural response to change and none of us are immune to those feelings.  Know that the faculty at Faith are here to support you as we walk together in raising students to be bold and courageous children of God!  

God reminds us many times in the Bible that we don’t need to feel anxious or worry (Matthew 6:25-34, Philippians 4:6).  He promises us peace, rest, help, and His steadfast love (Matthew 11:28-30), Psalm 33:20-22).  Most of all, He promises to always be with us, guiding our thoughts and lives.  He is at work in the ministry at Faith School, and He is at work in the lives of our faculty, students, and families!  He loves our children more than we ever could, and He holds each of us in His hands…we are His!

Thank you for continuing to communicate with us, even when you are nervous.  Thank you for allowing us to walk with you in raising your children.  What a blessing it is to be part of #OurFaithFamily!

Additional Updates for 24/25 School Year:

God is providing ways for Faith to move forward on initiatives approved by the Faith School Board! With the forward movement, we are excited to share these additional changes for the 24/25 School Year:

• Mrs. Kate Bergdolt will move into the role of Music Educator full-time
• Mrs. Jen Bartels will transition into Kindergarten
• Miss Emily Wanner will serve as our 1st Grade Educator
• Mrs. Nicky Smith will serve our upper grades in a 4-5 combination class this fall

Read-A-Thon a success!!

Many thanks to EVERYONE who helped make this year’s Read-A-Thon a success!!  Over $8300 was raised for updates on our playgrounds!  Donations will still be accepted through Monday, May 6th.  Be sure to go in and shop for prizes by May 6, too!  Prizes will be delivered to school and handed out upon arrival.  Don’t miss out…everything must be wrapped up by Monday, May 6!

K-5 Choir

K-5 choir will sing at the 10:30 worship on Sunday, May 12th as part of the 5th Grade recognition service.

Touching Hearts News

2. Summer daycare begins May 20th. Summer packets with permission slips have been sent home with those registered. Please return those forms ASAP. 

Last Day of School Update

The last day of school will soon be upon us! As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, our Faith Picnic will take place on our campus rather than at Mahoney Park. Communication from Lincoln Parks and Recreation over the past year has been the plan for construction and an inability to rent out space or guarantee a playground. Therefore, we will host our picnic at Faith!

What does this mean? It means families are invited to Faith for a picnic lunch outside beginning at 12:00. We will have our annual softball/kickball game on Faith Field. Students will be able to spread out across our playground, field, and stage area and enjoy the afternoon playing together. We might even have a few surprises in store for everyone! Come spend time together in fun and fellowship for the entire afternoon, and no one has to walk a mile in order to do it! Plus, our Faith bathrooms and drinking fountains will be open for everyone to use!

Come enjoy the afternoon as #OurFaithFamily celebrates a fantastic 23/24 school year!

Fun Night

PTL Fun Night will take place Thursday, May 16th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm

in the south parking lot.

Summer Fun Punch Cards

Summer punch cards are available at Touching Hearts and the School office. They are $5.00 each and 100% of the proceeds stay with Faith! On the tickets are “punches” redeemable for summer activities in Lincoln as well as additional food and activity coupons, valued well over $100.
