JCRC ADVOCACY ALERT
Greetings!

Last night the Missouri Senate took up HB 1878, a strict Photo ID bill. Senators loaded it with amendments and now it is a voter sabotage bill. They did add a two week no-excuse absentee voting provision, but don't be fooled, it a wolf in sheep's clothing. For a full summary of what happened to the bill, please see the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition call to action.

The bill must come back to the Senate for final approval, which could be as early as Thursday afternoon.

Contact your State Senator and tell him/her to vote NO on SS SCS HB 1878.

See below for additional actions you can take to urge Senators who oppose this bill to filibuster to block this dangerous legislation.

SAMPLE SCRIPT:

Senator, [state your name and your county], thank you for standing up for Missouri’s voters. Please use your power to filibuster the current version of H.B. 1878, which includes dangerous provisions that undermine our elections. It moves power to partisan lawmakers, opens the door to sham audits, allows discretionary voter purges and more. And, it removes the early voting provisions if photo ID is struck down. I urge you to use the filibuster to stop this bill from moving forward and continue stand up for Missouri’s voters. Thank you.
