Children, Youth and Family Newsletter AUGUST 2024

As we head into the Summer months people often think that things "slow down" for Children, Youth and Family Ministry. As the person in charge of this Ministry area, I know that couldn't be further from the truth. While we don't have our regular Sunday mornings for Children's Ministry, the Wednesday evenings for Middle School and Sunday evenings for High School - we still have opportunities for all those age groups throughout the Summer.

AUGUST CALENDAR

CHILDRENS MINISTRY

During the Summer months the biggest thing that we offer for Childrens Ministry is our Summer Day Camp program (more details listed below). We also offer IN PERSON Childrens Ministry on TWO Sundays a month. The Sundays that we will meet in August are the 11th and 25th. On the Sundays that we do not meet in person, there will be activity bulletins available.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY

During the Summer Months, Middle School MInistry (completed 6th-8th Grade) will be meeting on Wednesdays for Fellowship and Service Events, For the month of August we will be doing a Service Day on the 14th and Fellowship Events on the 7th and 21st. More information on these events can be found below.

HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY

For High School Ministry this Summer we will be doing ONCE A MONTH High School Bonfires at Katie's House, but our High School students are also invited to join in on any of the Middle School Events that we do on Wednesdays. As schedules allows we may add in a few other hangout times so please keep your eyes open for information. Our Hangout date for August is the 18th

SUMMER DAY CAMP 2024 August at a Glance

Our theme this Summer is "Just Live It" and is based off of James 1:22 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do waht it says." Each week we will talk about a different way we can reflect God in our daily lives through relationships, actions and more.

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL August at a Glance

Here are the August Event Dates

AUGUST 7th is a fellowship event to the Mall of America

AUGUST 14th service day with Service Learning Camps. Cost is $35/participant

AUGUST 18th is our HS Hangout at Katie's House

AUGUST 21st is a fellowship day to Valleyfair

FALL IS COMING

The quote to the right is so fitting for how I am feeling right now. Before we know it our Summer schedules will be done and we will be getting into our School Year Routines.


While I don't see much changing for what we offer this School Year, a full rundown of what the school year is going to look like will be available in Mid-August. A separate newsletter will be sent with more detailed information as well as Registration Forms

CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS AND DATES

Here are some important Full-Church announcements and dates for you to have on your radar

SUNDAY, August 25th our Church Council will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting to discuss upcoming Staff Transitions. This meeting will also be used as an opportunity for Congregation members to voice their thoughts, concerns and questions as we work together to move through these transitions.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th is our annual Fall Kick-Off Celebration. After Worship we will flow out into the Welcome Center and Church Lawn for Fellowship, Food and Fun. You will have an opportunity to decide how you want to plug in this year as well as sit back and enjoy your fellow congregation members

FINANCIAL UPDATE

Prince of Peace is currently in the process of updating their online giving platform to allow easier access. This is also allowing up to have an online payment option.
