Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,

it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

From Our Head of School

Dear Prince Families:

We’re in the home stretch this week with kindergarten and high school graduations and everything in between, including an appearance in the varsity baseball state championship for the second consecutive year.

This year’s combined student and teacher retention rate is an unprecedented 97%; with a record number of applicants for next year, we have waitlisted several grades. We remain committed to keeping our class sizes small to protect our school’s Christ-centered culture while expanding our campus facilities to enrich our students’ experience. I am excited about the road ahead; let’s have a strong finish to this school year!

In His service,

Col Seth Hathaway, Ed.D.

Prince Avenue Christian School will hold the Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00 am at the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Worship Center. Prince alumnus David Dove will give the charge to graduates.

David Dove is a distinguished partner at Troutman Pepper, where he leads the Regulatory + Economic Investment Practice in Georgia. This interdisciplinary group provides comprehensive counsel to clients on a variety of legal and public policy matters, leveraging David’s extensive leadership experience in state government to assist clients in achieving their business goals and navigating regulatory challenges.

Before joining Troutman Pepper, David served as Executive Counsel for Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp. As one of two direct reports to the Governor, he collaborated with the Attorney General’s office to secure significant legal victories, notably in the Tri-State Water Wars. His efforts contributed to a unanimous Supreme Court decision in Florida v. Georgia and landmark rulings in In Re ACF Basin and Alabama et al., v. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers et al.

David also played a crucial role in Governor Kemp’s appointments, leading to the most diverse group of judicial appointments in Georgia’s history. This includes four Supreme Court Justices, six Judges on the Georgia Court of Appeals, and nearly a quarter of all current trial court judges in Georgia. In addition, he worked alongside Governor Kemp to significantly increase the representation of women and minorities on executive branch boards and commissions, expanding their representation by more than tenfold since 2019.

In April of this year, David was appointed by Governor Kemp to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, representing Congressional District 11. The Board of Regents is the governing body for Georgia’s 26 public colleges and universities.

Originally from Athens, David is a proud Wolverine alumnus (’05) and attended Prince Avenue Christian School from preschool through 12th grade. David holds both a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Georgia. He is an active member of the University’s community, serving on the University of Georgia Law School Alumni Council and as Chairman of the School of Public & International Affairs’ Alumni Board.
