RUBBISH COLLECTION UPDATE (06/30/2021)
Public Works crews continue to focus on the collection of the massive volume of personal property and debris placed at the curb from Saturday’s storm. With the suspension of yard waste collection this week, Public Works has been able to devote all personnel and equipment to storm cleanup. In addition, a private contractor has been brought in to assist with the mechanical removal of large items. Crews are making every effort to follow the normal collection days for the rest of this week. However, it is anticipated there may be delays. Adding to these challenges, collection has also been hampered by long delays when emptying trucks and the rubbish transfer stations.  These stations are also being overwhelmed by the increased number of trucks and volume of debris coming from all the surrounding communities.

Your continued assistance is greatly appreciated by:

  • Placing all regular household rubbish at the curb on your normal pick-up day.
  • Not placing out yard waste this week
  • Removing vehicles from the street, whenever possible, as you see crews arrive on your street. We do understand that some storm damaged vehicles are not operable and cannot be moved at this time.

The crew of the Public Works Department are very grateful for the support they have received from our Grosse Pointe Farms family of residents, and ask for your continued patience.
