UM Team Coach Offering Parenting Program Support *
Communities of Practice for Parenting Program providers are back up and running! Join a community where members support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. All of the following CoPs are currently being offered virtually and are appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting Programs. If you have any questions or would like additional support, please contact teamcoach@miami.edu.
We know that this uncertain time may be challenging and overwhelming for providers. We believe that, as a community, we have the strength to support one another. During this time, our CoPs will contain extra discussion surrounding COVID-19 and the impact it’s having on your programs, relationships with families, etc.
Parent Stressors & Barriers - This CoP will be held on the first Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. In this CoP, we will be identifying key stressors and barriers your families may currently be facing, as well as identifying and practicing strategies to solve these barriers. Creating Support Networks & Community Outreach/Recruitment - This CoP will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community and discuss program recruitment strategies. You will have the opportunity to get to know other community providers, share information, and support one another. Virtual recruitment will be an ongoing topic. Special Session! The New Normal: Returning to In-Person Services during COVID-19 (Part II)
This CoP will be held on Thursday, September 9th, from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. via Zoom. In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to share ideas and problem-solve strategies for returning to in-person services for group-based, home-based, and office-based parenting services. We will discuss recruitment, communication, and safety strategies for your staff and participants. Come prepared to share your agency’s ideas to help all programs successfully serve the community. Tuesday, September 14, from 9 a.m. -12 p.m.
The last two Provider Meetings were a huge success! Let’s keep the momentum going! The Children's Trust will host a general session for all Trust-funded providers from 9-11 am. Breakout sessions will follow for providers in the areas of Youth Development K-5, 6-12, Parenting/Family Strengthening and Partnerships and will take place from 11-12 p.m. Please ensure that all staff members who are essential to our partnership attend this virtual meeting; this includes your executive director/CEO for the morning session, along with the individuals who manage your program for the breakout sessions.

Metrics Site Visits 2021-2022
We are excited to announce that on-site metrics visits will be taking place this fall. Program managers will visit your programs to review and support your continuous quality improvement efforts. The Metrics tool for 21-22 has been updated and can be found here. Please review carefully with your team as there are some minor updates to the Metrics tool. Updates are highlighted in yellow. Note: visits will begin mid-September. In the upcoming weeks, your program manager will be reaching out for any needed information prior to your visit. If you have any questions, please reach out to your program manager.

No-Cost OnlineTreatment to Reduce Child Anxiety Available at UM *
|
The University of Miami is offering a brief, online program for caregivers to help reduce children’s fear, worry and anxiety. Project EMPOWER helps caregivers respond to their child’s anxiety and related behavior quickly and effectively (in less than 40 minutes) via a fully online, therapist-free program. Project EMPOWER is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

No-Cost Telehealth Treatment at UM for Caregivers of Children with Autism *
|
The University of Miami is providing a 4-session telehealth group treatment (Project COPE) at no cost for caregivers experiencing anxiety, sadness or stress during COVID-19 that have a child (age 5-13) on the autism spectrum.
Project COPE helps caregivers learn skills to help cope with strong emotions and parenting challenges. The program is based on evidence-based, cognitive behavioral therapy principles and is available in Spanish and English.

Paid Research Study on Women's Health Affected by Male Incarceration
|
This research study will be conducted by a Sociology doctoral candidate at the University of Miami studying the health effects Black and Hispanic women in Florida experience as a result of supporting a male incarcerated loved one (husband, boyfriend, brother, son, etc.). Eligible women must live in Florida, speak English, be 18+, and have provided support to a male loved one who is currently incarcerated or recently released. Participants will be paid $40 for their time. Interviews are over Zoom.

6-Week Workforce Development Program in Banking and Financial Services

Overtown Youth Center is recruiting individuals (18+) to participate in a 6-week job training program. Participation is free and will include interactive classes (Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m., Thursdays, 5-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.) focused on customer service skills, understanding the banking industry, and interview preparation. The Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH) provides mental health services including Individual/family therapy and psychiatry for children and adolescents in Miami-Dade County. The institute accepts most Medicaid HMO’s and has funding for children of low-income families who do not have insurance. Media Manager *
The Media Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Communications with all forms of media, including earned and paid media, sponsored content, and social media.
The Media Manager will be the primary executor of media strategies as directed by both the Director of Communications and the Director of Public Policy & Community Engagement. The incumbent will also work directly with both marketing and public relations consultants, as assigned. The incumbent will have creative latitude to develop written content in English and Spanish, under the approval of the Director of Communications, and will have the opportunity to pitch and develop media stories.
Communications Project Manager *
The Communications Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. In this role, the Communications Project Manager will plan, execute, monitor, control and close out projects while keeping stakeholders informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of the communication's department goals and vision.
The Communications Project Manager under general guidance from the Director of Communications ensures the internal and external messages, brand and image of The Children’s Trust is consistent.

The Program Manager is responsible for administering and monitoring contracts for various early childhood programs and services throughout Miami-Dade County that are funded by The Children's Trust. This position requires occasional non-traditional work hours (weekends and evenings). Background and experience in data analysis, process improvement and analytics is preferred. The following duties are illustrative for this position: assist with the development and management of the bid solicitation process; monitor funded programs and services; participate in meetings and professional development activities; manage contract amendments and revisions; manage contract compliance; examines and uses data, processes and systems for organizational goals setting.

Fiscal Facilitator for Youth Advisory Committee Service - Learning Initiatives
The Children’s Trust seeks the services of an independent contractor to provide community engagement support, primarily to the youth voice of The Children’s Trust, Youth Advisory Committee. This independent contractor will help to execute purchase, hiring and financial logistics for the YAC service-learning initiatives for the 2021-2022 academic year.
To be considered, proposals for these services must include, but should not be limited to, the following elements:
- Relevant professional qualifications and demonstrable related experience.
- Quote or cost for services (with hourly rate breakdown when possible).
- At least three professional references with contact information related to similar work done in the last three years.
