Parent News
October 2022
Greetings!

How wonderful to be able to again enjoy some of our most beloved traditions here at CCPC this month. Our Fall Family BBQ brought out more than 300 people to enjoy great friendships, both old and new, and super fun activities for the kids. Thanks to our tireless and creative chairs, Lisa Luse and Katie Rosenthal, and the entire hard-working committee for a great evening to our families.

The long-awaited return of field trips! Our trips to Butler's Orchard were a hit too! So many parents volunteered and the weather was perfect. How exciting to ride the hay wagon, pick a pumpkin, and see goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens and more up close in a bucolic setting.

Tell a friend or neighbor about CCPC! Hard to believe but tours for the 2023-24 school year begin October 27 and continue through January. We always love referrals from our amazing families.

Now we turn our attention to a new Annual Fund campaign. I thank each of you in advance for your generous pledges to support a new turf surface on our main playground and renovation of our Little Playground too.

I hope you enjoyed a spooky and fun Halloween with your little ones--it's such a magical time of year!

Annual Fund Kick Off
Your generous pledge make a big difference for all our children!
Your generosity will support years of maintenance-free turf on our primary playing field on the main playground. Pending final church approval, the little playground will get a full re-fresh including a new turf area, new plantings, and a mulched play surface.

Every gift counts!

COVID Policy/Health Reminder
Rule Number 1
If your child is sick, keep them home!

If your child has a mild Covid Symptom, please email a negative test to your teacher and Noni before school.

If your child has been exposed to anyone with Covid or has Covid, please contact Noni to discuss appropriate next steps. General guidance is available on the For Our Parents page of our website.

We can only communicate information that we receive.
Please help keep our school environment safe and healthy for all.
Allergy Reminder
We know that many children enjoy peanut butter for breakfast. Please remember that children should never carry food into school. Wipe hands thoroughly before entering the building. Residue on banisters could trigger a reaction for one of our many allergic children. Thank you for your care.

TPAC Study--Volunteers needed
The goal of the study is to help families who may be struggling with attention and behavioral difficulties and figure how to best provide support. It will compare 2 different treatments for children (ages 3-8 years old) and parent with attention difficulties. When parents have their own difficulties with attention, organization, planning, and/or emotion regulation, it can make parenting a child with these same difficulties even more challenging. Families living in DC and Maryland are eligible. Dr. Andrea Chronis-Tuscano is the principal investigator on this National Institute of Mental Health-funded study.
