A Message From the CEO/CFO

Dear Archway Friends and Family,
June is a significant month for educators and students. It signals not only the end of another school year, but for a select group of students, it signals a new beginning, a crossing over into adulthood. While this significantly affects the students and their families, the staff also feels the emotional upheaval of letting go and saying goodbye to the children they walked alongside, nurtured, and cheered every step of the way.
I am proud of every graduate that achieved such an important milestone, but I am equally proud of every staff member that ensured their success. Your compassion and dedication have left an indelible mark on each student. You will forever be a part of them, and I thank you for being a part of Archway Programs.
Last week Blue Violet Flowers and Gifts provided floral design lessons to children from our Just Kids Summer Camp. Stephanie from the floral shop, James from IT, and Montana from DD Services joined forces with the Just Kids staff to make the event an exciting and successful experience. While the event alone was terrific, what impressed me the most was the dedication, teamwork, and cross-program assistance that made it possible. It is a testament to how well each Archway Service complements the other and how devoted our team members are to making Archway Programs the standard by which all others compare.
Summer is a time for vacations, relaxing, and reconnecting with family and friends. Enjoy, recharge, and appreciate summer's warm days and long nights. Stay safe and take time for a well-deserved break.
Sincerely,
George Richards
CEO/CFO

and Catches the Big One!

The One They Let Get Away!
Dr. Patricia Moore, Archway Director of Special Education, took some time to enjoy our beautiful Archway Campus. She spotted Julian, an Archway Lower School Student, fishing off the bridge during her travels. Joining him, she dropped a line, and to her surprise, she hooked a sizable fish! They tossed the big one back, but not before capturing a photo as proof for future fish stories that will undoubtedly end with “the one we let get away.”

Lower School Students and Staff Enjoy a Summer Barbecue
On June 9th and 10th, the students and staff from the Lower School enjoyed a barbecue complete with hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, salads, fruit, and frozen treats. Students and staff enjoyed music, various games, a sprinkler to cool off, and lots and lots of bubbles! Thank you to everyone from Lower School Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy for setting this great event in motion and for the delicious food! Everyone had a fabulous time, and we could not have asked for two more beautiful days!
Welcome Back to the ESY (Extended School Year) Program

Upper School Hosts a Summer Fun Day
Tuesday's rain gave way long enough for the Upper School to host a fabulous Fun Day for students and staff from both schools. Everyone enjoyed delicious snacks, great music, running and rolling through a sprinkler, hopping in a bouncy house, and not one but two water slides! A dunk tank proved to be a popular spot as everyone was thrilled to dunk their favorite staff members! Everyone had a wonderful time, and smiles were everywhere, which was a terrific way to end the school day!
Upper School is Off to a Great Start!
The Upper School is off to a great start with their ESY (Extended School Year)! Staff shared photos of a typical summer day at Archway, including one of their summer bulletin boards promising a great summer session. From the pictures of students reading, building with Legos, engaging in a science lesson with a microscope, and working on their computers, we must agree. Creativity is also at work/play in art class and music class, and of course, a little pool time is a perfect complement to a summer session at Archway!

Just Kids Participants Make Floral Arrangements to Take Home
Children from our Just Kids, Waterford Camp worked with Blue Violet Flowers and Gifts to design beautiful floral arrangements for their families. The children gathered at The Grove at Archway Lower School as Stephanie from Blue Violet and Montana and James from admin assisted them with their floral masterpieces. One young participant assured us the arrangement was not only for her mother but her “whole family” except the dog. She didn’t want him to eat the flowers! The children and staff had a great time, and everyone was excited to take their flowers home!
