PennTAP Advisor Amy Jorden performed site evaluations to determine potential energy efficiency improvements in York Wallcoverings’ two facilities located in York. The company was awarded a USDA REAP grant totaling $68,503, and the upgrades will result in energy savings of $14,759 and 210,840 kWh annually. Read more.

The PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is offering rebates to Pennsylvania agricultural producers for energy efficiency projects. Rebates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funding is available, through June 30, 2023. Interested applicants should apply to secure a rebate voucher prior to installing the equipment.
Rebates are available for:
- LED lighting
- Dairy equipment for milk pumping and refrigeration or cooling equipment
- Ventilation equipment

An $896,000 grant from the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority will expand the services and geographic reach of the Northwest Pennsylvania Innovation Beehive Network, which includes the James R. Meehl Innovation Commons at Penn State Behrend. The lab is a product-design and prototyping space. Student employees offer part design, computer-aided drafting, no-cost 3D printing, app design and Industry 4.0 training, among other services. The Penn State Behrend funding will be used to hire an event coordinator, who will support programming across the Beehive Network.
