Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. Philanthropy Thursday!
Happy Holidays and Philanthropy Thursday
Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. Community Family!
We hope that everyone is well and safe today. Let’s continue to be a blessing to each other and lift each other up in prayer as many deal with life’s daily triumphs, challenges, national disasters, and of course, the Covid Pandemic which seems to be back on the rise. Focusing on your wellness is a part of life.

Keep the Faith!
Holidays are about Family, Food and Fun! Kecia and Kevin’s son Kendall successfully completed his first semester at his “second home”, Howard niversity. Congratulations to you on your latest achievement! We are so proud of you!
Our youngest son Kyle was granted early acceptance thus far to six colleges, Wingate University, Winston Salem-State University, Nova Southeastern University, Dominican College, Iona College and Dutchess Community College. He plans on majoring in Exercise Science. Congratulations to Kyle! We are so proud of you! These are major achievements for a job well done!ix
Even though the holiday brings holiday cheer, between November and January, many people go through “holiday blues”. Please believe that “rainbows and sunshine” do come in the morning. Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. takes wellness seriously and help our clients focus on their wellness throughout the year! We help our clients be resilient through their storms.
If you or someone you know is suffering from depression, your doctor can help manage your symptoms. Make an appointment if your symptoms last longer than a week.  Your doctor will likely administer a physical exam and blood test to rule out other health problems.
How to Cope With Depression or Holiday Blues
If you have depression or suspect you have depression, it’s important that you speak to a therapist. Cognitive-behavioral therapy successfully treats depression every single day. However, if you ruled out depression or want to do more than therapy, try the following.

Switch Up Your Tradition
If you’re feeling depressed, know that switching up your holiday traditions is okay. Don’t pressure yourself to get involved when you don’t want to. On the other hand, you may feel better once you start going through the motions. Either way, take it slow for your own benefit.

Don’t Set Unrealistic Expectations
Our families aren’t perfect. They may forget to buy you that gift you wanted or feel too tired to cook a portion of the meal. It’s easy to get disappointed and feel like you want to “fix” everything, but you can still have fun even when things don’t go as planned.

Tell Someone Close to You
Unless there’s a good reason to hide your depression from your family, you should absolutely tell them what’s going on. Let them know how you’re feeling, but tell them that you don’t expect them to make it better. Explain that you just want to talk and feel heard this holiday.

Let People Help You
It’s hard to ask people to help you during the holidays, but if having to do everything stresses you out, please ask for help. Delegate tasks to others, especially if you’ve been running things for a while. Others may not know how to help you, but they’re likely willing to give you a hand.

Don’t Compare Past and Future Holidays
When you’re a kid, the holidays have a special, magical quality to them, but as an adult, they’re filled with expectations. Try to accept that your holidays look different now, not necessarily worse. Allow each holiday to be the best it can be without comparing it to others.

Take Care of Yourself
Holiday pressure can make it difficult for you to rest, but you still need to care for yourself. Make sure you have enough “me time” during the holidays by doing an activity you enjoy. Don’t forget to eat healthily and exercise during this time, so you can recover from the blues faster.

Skip the Holidays
While avoidance isn’t the best advice in some cases, it definitely can be if your family members make you feel unloved or unwanted during the holidays. You don’t have to put up with abuse just because they’re your family. If canceling this year will help your mental health, then do so.

Your Mental Health and Happiness Matters! Surround yourself with positivity and love each and everyday!
The “Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc.” family would like to thank you, our “Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc.” Family for being there for us during our time of need last month.  Unfortunately, we lost suddenly a very, dear and precious member of our family, Obie Mae Palmer. Obie was the beloved mother and best friend of Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc.’s CEO Kecia Palmer-Cousins and beloved mother-in-law of Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc.’s COO Kevin Cousins. She was the best wife, mom, mother-in-law, grand-mom, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, best friend, friend, church member, neighbor, worker, business owner, teacher, role model, etc. that we could have asked for. She poured all of her life, love, affection and attention to all that she met and knew. She was simply “love”!

We were grateful for her unconditional love each and every day. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2021. We had her funeral services, i.e. celebration of life in Mt. Pleasant, SC on November 13th, 2021. We thank the Johnson-Halls Funeral Home, a black family owned business, for their professionalism and care in taking care of Kecia’s mother’s funeral Arrangements. We thank Kecia’s mother’s church, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, for conducting a beautiful celebration of Life for her mom. We are especially grateful Kecia’s dad, her cousins Salima and Nekida who were her major caregivers during her mom’s illness.
Kecia and Kevin are indebted and grateful to each and every family member and friend who attended the services and shared their personal memories of her mom. Her services were livestreamed via the funeral home facebook and may still be viewed there. We appreciate our family and friends for their words, gestures, phone calls, visits, flowers, plants, meals, gift cards, precious shared memories, pictures and kind words of her legacy are and were truly appreciated.
She was truly the rock and matriarch of the Palmer family. A beautiful spirit, full of love, compassion, patience, kindness, encouragement, fun, vision, spunk, spirituality, family, friendship and simply “ unconditional love”! We loved her. However, God loved her best! We feel comforted knowing that we have her as a guardian angel looking over us and protecting us with her heavenly love. She was married 59 years to Kecia’s father Leroy Sr. and gave birth to 4 children, Vaughn, Sr., Kecia, Leroy Jr. and Curtis. Her jewels. Her devoted sons always gave her her flowers, sweet smelling perfumes,
Etc. while she was alive. Kecia always spoke to her daily and traveled down to see her as often as possible and was part of her caregiving team as well. We are grateful for doctor’s who take good care of her throughout the past 5 years.

We will miss her deeply and dearly.  Her foundation of love that she planted inside all of her family and friends will continue to grow to help others to love, grow and give back too. We are grateful for the 80 years that she had on earth to live her life and to bring forth life and touch so many hearts. She will be part of our hearts forever. We feel truly blessed to have had in our lives 1 year after she recovered “miraculously” from a medically induced coma after 3 days due to her 2 seizures and 2 strokes last year. She was a “walking miracle”.

We choose to celebrate her life and legacy through the good deeds, compassion and passion that we bring to others all year round. We took lots of time last month to reflect on her life. We are open to continued sharing and caring of her memories with everyone. We also thank everyone for sharing with us the wonderful memories of their loved ones that they have lost and those who are still with us. It takes a village. Please keep in touch! As my mom used to always say, “We’re all family”.
We will continue to do our best to bring you good cheer and a boost of inspiration and encouragement as 2021 comes to an end this month.

We encourage you to count your blessings and know that “you” are a blessing! We wish much holiday cheer to our Aero-Ba-Soul, Inc. Family and Friends. We thank you for your continued support and patronage.
Thanks to and congratulations to everyone who did what they could to keep MWBEs open last year and this year! You are true VIP’s!
