2022 Swoop of Cranes
The Swoop of the Cranes is a community art project celebrating our Sandhill Cranes and showcasing the extraordinary talent of our local artists.

Finished silhouettes will be attached to light posts on either side of Highway 160 between Madison and Broadway, as a brass plaque will be awarded to each creation identifying the Sponsor and the Artist.

These Cranes will be on display from March to September, as people will have a chance to vote for their personal favorites!

Mountainfilm on Tour – Monte Vista is presented by the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber is partnering once again with San Luis Valley Great Outdoors (SLV GO!) to support their work in the San Luis Valley to provide accessible and inclusive outdoor recreation opportunities for all.

Mountainfilm on Tour showcases a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the annual Mountainfilm festival held in Telluride, Colorado.

  • Southern Rocky Mountain Agriculture Conference - Located at the Ski Hi Regional Event Center beginning February 1 - 3

  • New Year's Fun Race Day - Located at Wolf Creek Ski Area on Sunday, January 2, from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.

  • Trivia Night - Located at Square Peg Brewerks in Alamosa on Wednesday, January 12, starting at 7:00 PM.
  • Rio Frio Ice Fest - Located at the Alamosa Recreation Center from Friday, January 28th - Sunday, January 30th
