Rock the Week for September 8
Your Wednesday Dose of Shadow Rock News
SHADOW ROCK SEEK AND FIND
Last week's first correct guess (the yarn bombed tree on the Hansen Patio) was June Miner.

This week's photo is quite challenging! Only folks who've explored the hidden bits of the preschool/education building will recognize this spot. Be the first to correctly identify what's in the photo and be recognized in the following week's Rock the Week.Submit your guess by clicking the button on the left. Thanks for playing, everyone!

Financial Celebrations
We have good news to share! Shadow Rock's Financial Officer Heidi Zinn has gotten confirmation that our PPP loan has been forgiven. Shadow Rock Preschool has been awarded funding for program enhancements and other needs that will help us better serve preschool families. Lastly, we've been approved for a hybrid church grant from the Southwest Conference for technical upgrades (you can read more about this project). We are grateful. If you would like to see Heidi's announcement from August 29, it's available on YouTube here.
Fall Formation Opportunities
Our first Sunday morning 9 o'clock formation series begins this week in the Multipurpose Room and on Zoom. In September and October, we're "Wading Into Theology," a survey of different ways of imagining and describing Spirit. As always, all are welcome, and our experiences and values take the spotlight.

On Monday, September 13, small group returns with a new topic: "Breathe, Write." Monday Small Group is Zoom only, and you can join via the button below. In the meantime, check in with Karen to share your questions.
Serving Immigrants and Refugees - a Shadow Rock Call to Action
We continue to hold in prayer families arriving to the US from Afghanistan. One of these families we are claiming as "ours," by sponsoring their emigration to the United States. This will be rewarding, challenging, and life-giving work. If you missed Pastor Ken's Call to Action earlier this week, you can read it here. Stay tuned for how you can help or join the Welcome Team. We expect things to move quickly and be highly changeable for the new few weeks. Your prayers for all families caught in our sometimes capricious and unjust immigration system are always appreciated. Prepare for our work by learning more from the UCC national setting and from Church World Service.
Rock the Week is published each Wednesday.
