Summer Camp's return was a huge success
Our team wants to give a big THANK YOU to all parents and campers for making this return to summer camp a success! We truly could not do it without your enthusiasm and care to make this season a safe return to exploring the natural world with friends in our Garden. I heard from many of you how your camper woke up excited to go to camp and explore the Hands-On Nature Anarchy Zone or check the Rice Paddy Pond for turtles later in the hot day. I cannot express how excited myself and our staff were to experience those same moments; having camp return to the Garden lightened the hearts and minds of everyone.

To the campers who came in with energy and curiosity each morning and showed us the impact this summer experience has on each child.

To the seasonal staff who dedicated their summer to making the camp a success and connected fully with each camper to better their weekly experience.

To the parents who showed patience throughout a longer than normal daily drop-off and dedication to creating a safe summer camp.

We hope to see you throughout the academic year in ICG programs or just a visit to the beautiful Garden as it grows through its seasonal changes. As always, Ithaca Children's Garden is here to welcome every unique and beautiful child to come explore our three acres.
Thanks for your heart and hard work TUF teens
It has been a growthful and engaged season for the Teen Urban Farmers, brought to us by Youth Employment Services. For the past 8 weeks, the teens have been out In the Garden helping it thrive and shine while getting their own first job experience.

On top of the daily weeding, trellising, chipping, and hoeing, we created a woven bird nest, flower dome, stone bridge, and log stage. Also, we worked with hypertufa, made toad houses, harvested, and got some stretching and nutritional information from Sarah Curless SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension. Turns out gardening (while hard work) is quite enjoyable with enough variety and good company.

We had the opportunity to support summer camp activities with cooling mists, garden touring, yummy harvest food and engaging well kept spaces.
For these past weeks the answer to the question “Who keeps this place looking so good?” is the TUF teens!

Thank you for your work TUF teens- you create hope for a healthy future.
Outstanding Worksite Supervisor!
