FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Social Media - Critical Reminders

It recently came to the attention of school administration that some members of our student body have been circulating materials on social media that feature a segment of a classroom lecture without any context. As a result, these posts are misleading and disingenuous.

Given this development, it is important for me to reiterate the crucial importance of our students practicing caution, responsibility, decency, and respect when utilizing social media platforms. We have a Responsible Use Policy for Technology, which can be found on page 40 of the Student Handbook. It applies to our students at all times both in and out of school. Violations of this policy can lead to disciplinary consequences and may have long term negative impacts related to college admissions as well as future employment opportunities.

Perhaps more importantly, social media activity that seeks to mock, ridicule, or insult others violates the Catholic teaching that all persons are children of God worthy of dignity and respect.

Please continue to stress to your sons and daughters the importance of responsible digital citizenship. Encourage them to inform a trusted adult when they encounter troubling or alarming content on social media, rather than liking or sharing it.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to work together to form young people of faith and integrity.
Chester County Safe Schools Summit: Parenting in a Digital World

Chester County Intermediate Unit is inviting parents to the Chester County Safe Schools Summit: Parenting in a Digital World. This event will focus on examining current social media sites, increasing parental awareness of social media interaction threats, and identifying the steps that parents can take to keep children safe. We will explore the digital connections children make through social media and security features and practices that will help us keep children safe. The event will take place Thursday March 30, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, via Zoom. For more information and to register, click here.
FlynnO'Hara Sweater Issues

If you purchased a new uniform sweater this year and there are already holes in the elbows or other defects, please note that there is a manufacturer's warranty on the sweater for one year. You may bring the sweater to the store and they will provide a replacement. If you order a replacement sweater online, you may bring in the old sweater to FlynnO'Hara and receive a full refund for it. Please help make sure your student is in full dress code everyday: shirts tucked in, gentlemen clean-shaven, ladies proper skort length, and no holes in sweaters or stockings. If your student has holes in his or her sweater and you have not yet been able to obtain a replacement, he or she may borrow one from the Attendance Office.
Philadelphia Catholic Scholars Program

The Philadelphia Catholic Scholars Program is a residential, college-accredited summer program, offering young men in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia a robust introduction to the great intellectual and spiritual heritage of the Church.

In discussion-based seminars, led by seminary and university professors, participants will study the great texts that have formed our cultural and intellectual inheritance – all in pursuit of emerging as well-formed Catholic men with a rich and integrated understanding of Catholic thought and life.
Combining rigorous study with a robust participation in the prayer life of the Church – as well as weekend cultural excursions to Philadelphia – the PCSP brings young Catholic men into conversation with the riches of the Catholic tradition, inviting them to come to understand and live their faith more profoundly. The program this year will take place at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary July 5 - July 14, 2023. Young men are invited to join the program on the beautiful campus of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, where they will live, eat, study, pray, and play together, as a community of Catholic men seeking deeper knowledge of Christ. To learn more about the program and to apply, visit philadelphiacatholicscholars.org.
