The leaves may be changing, but YWCA Princeton's commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women is stronger than ever! Here's what's happening at YWCA Princeton this September.

The Faces of YWCA Princeton

The last week of August, YWCA Princeton closes the building to participants and students while staff engages in trainings. This year we focused on our three-year Strategic Plan and our preschool staff excitedly refreshed their classrooms in anticipation of their new students. We have added three additional Universal Pre-K classrooms for the Princeton Public School District in two new locations! We can't wait to begin our new school year on Tuesday September 3rd.

103 Women, 103 Ways, 103 Days

In celebration of our 103rd birthday, YWCA Princeton is challenging 103 women (or men, kids, organizations, companies) to each raise $103 in 103 days to support our programs and services.

Not sure how you can raise funds? We have a list of 103 ways you can raise $103!

Join YWCA USA at a National Town Hall in Philadelphia

At YWCA, we are on a mission to celebrate the dynamic voices of Gen Z. Leveraging insights from our comprehensive National Survey, the YWomenVote National Town Hall provides a nonpartisan forum for the diverse, impactful opinions of young women, girls and nonbinary young people to influence national discourse and shape effective policy solutions as we approach the 2024 Presidential Election.

This 3-part program will reach thousands of young people across the country through its livestreamed and live audience components including:

  • A moderated panel discussion among Gen Z women and gender expansive individuals from diverse backgrounds;
  • A presidential candidate forum (invitations have been extended to candidates, but have not yet confirmed); and
  • Local watch parties with get out the vote (GOTV) activations

Did we mention that tickets to this event are FREE?

The wave of Persimmon and PINK is fast approaching as we close out our summer programs and look towards the fall here at the YWCA Princeton’s Breast Cancer Resource Center. On August 22nd, BCRC members were invited to participate in a gathering at the Hopewell Valley Vineyards in Pennington. During this outing, BCRC survivors & thrivers enjoyed complimentary cheese platters and a glass of their prosecco while participating in a healing art activity that will be displayed at the seventh annual Beyond Pink pop-up art show being held at MarketFair Mall from October 24th – 26th.

The BCRC staff and members will also be out and about spreading the power of PINK throughout the month of September at the following events:

  • September 7th & 8th the 19th annual Pink Ribbon Softball Tournament. For more info: https://pinkribbonsoftball.org/Tournament.html
  • Starting the week of September 23rd, staff and volunteers will be distributing our PINK Breast Cancer Awareness month bows throughout Mercer county locations. Contact us if you would like to display a bow at your place of business/office/school or to volunteer!
