Finding Friendship in the Midst of Tragedy.

The Miramar Police Department is dedicated to supporting it's citizens, especially in their moments of need. Michelle James and her children were struck by a drunk driver on May 7, 2016. Little did she, nor the officer who responded, know that their chance encounter would result in an unbreakable bond. 
New Library Card Symbolizes Diversity and Inclusion

Broward County Libraries is debuting a new library card design that symbolizes its "Stronger Together" diversity and inclusion philosophy, which is reflected in all aspects of its operation and in serving the public. The new Broward County Library card design is a vibrant photo of hands clasped against a rainbow. The new cards will be available at all library locations in December 2021. More…

2023 Clean Air Poster Contest Opens for Young Artists
Broward County students are invited to show off their artistic talents and enter the 2023 Clean Air Calendar Poster Contest. The theme is 30 by 30 because scientists have determined that we should preserve at least 30% of our lands and oceans by the year 2030. Students are being asked to show what our lives and/or the environment would look like if we accomplished this goal. The contest is free and open to all K-12 students residing in Broward County. Deadline to submit is February 11, 2022. More…

Resident Guide Photo Contest
​Broward County is hosting a photography contest for photos to be featured in Broward County's 2022 @Your Service Resident Guide. Beautiful landscapes, golden sunrises, wildlife at play, astounding architecture, snapshots of our arts and entertainment scene – we want to see Broward through your lens! Photographers are invited to submit their best images of life in Broward County which reflect the photographer's daily encounters or activities while exploring the County. Deadline to submit photos is January 3, 2022. Complete Details and Submission Requirements
