Dear Residents –
First and foremost, Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of you! Hopefully, it will bring a bit of luck to the Tappan Zee High School boys basketball team tonight when, at 6 pm, they are playing in the NYS Class A semifinal game against New Hartford in Glens Falls, New York. If you want to watch the game but are not up for a three-hour trip, it can be viewed (for a fee) here. The winner will go on to play in the state championship game on Saturday night. Go Dutchmen!
Looking for something to do with your spare time? Rockland County is looking for individuals for their boards and commissions. These volunteer positions are an opportunity for residents to impact policies, shape laws, and serve in an advisory capacity to the county. Currently, there are more than 50 vacancies. If you are interested, head to the website to learn more about these boards and commissions, to obtain information on the requirements and responsibilities, and to apply for a position.
It looks like we are going to have dry weather this weekend, just in time for the Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday. I am looking forward to marching again this year and seeing the sea of smiling people and listening to the sounds of the pipe and drum bands. The parade starts at the Pfizer parking lot at 1:30 pm and marches down Middletown Road and onto Central Avenue. Additional questions about the parade? Scan the Orangetown Police Department QR code below for information on road closures and more.
I am looking forward to seeing some of you out there. But, whatever you decide to do, enjoy your weekend and be safe!
Regards,
|
