Dear Grade Eight Families of the MS 104 Community:

Happy Tuesday! As we head towards the last few months of the school year it is time to begin thinking about end of year activities for the Class of 2023. Below you will find important information about Senior Yearbook advertisements and the submission of photos to be included in the yearbook that celebrate the graduating class.

All of the information below is posted on our Eighth Grade Senior Information and Events Google classroom page. Students were invited to join this classroom earlier in the year so that they can stay up to date on all things eighth grade. At this time, about ninety of our eighth grade students have yet to sign up for the classroom. Please speak with your child to ensure that they have signed up for this important Google classroom. The code to join the classroom is bldaavq.

A special thanks to our Senior Activities coordinator Mr. Melnick for keeping our students and families informed of all of the great events that are forthcoming for the Class of 2023.

Questions regarding the yearbook can be emailed to Mr. Melnick at bmelnick@schools.nyc.gov.

Thank you as always for your collaboration and support.

Sincerely,

Rocco Macri, Principal

Yearbook Advertisements

The 8th Grade yearbook is an exciting opportunity to say goodbye to our class of 2023!! Let's make this yearbook our best yet. We sell ad-space in the yearbook to generate funding for our school's General Fund and the PTA. This year we have several options for local businesses or to just say goodbye/congrats to our graduates. The options for advertisements are as follows:

  • Quarter-page ads will appear vertically
  • Half and eighth-page ads will appear Horizontally.

Have besties since grade-school? Consider fun group pics to go in with another family.  Sample pages are below. Be creative. Have FUN!!

The details regarding payment for advertisements as well as the format of and deadline for submissions is as follows:

  1. The form to submit advertisement orders can be accessed by clicking here. Students can also access this link on the Google classroom.
  2. Payment must be submitted to Mr. Melnick in room 324.  Students can drop by during Lunch. Checks (or Money Orders) should be made out to Simon Baruch 104 General Fund.
  3. Advertisements must be submitted as a JPEG file to bmelnick@schools.nyc.gov no later than 3/24. Please Make sure the sender of the Advertisement identifies the Student and HR in the body of the email.

Yearbook Photo Submissions

Please see the information below regarding the submission of photos to be included in the yearbook.

Baby photos are a fun way to see how you've grown over the years. Please send a baby photo the same way as your Extra Curricular Activities below. We try to keep the photos under the age of 3. If you need help scanning, hard-copy photos can be delivered to room 324 or placed in Mr. Melnick's mailbox in the main office.  Make sure you put the full student name on the back of your photo.

Club and Sports Photos - We are now accepting student photos for the yearbook. We are looking for candids, team pics, or fun group photos.

Students can submit photos online accessing the yearbook website provided here. This is also the website where yearbooks can be purchased. Once you arrive at the website, students must create an account and enter the School Code : 713492 to upload photos to be submitted. Photos should be tagged to the best of your ability so we know who is in the picture and what event, team, or program is being represented.

Our Annual Fund is our primary source of fundraising. Your support will be more crucial than ever this year as our school faces unprecedented budget cuts and increased student need. Please give what you can.
