Her impact lives on not only in our Young Adult Court (YAC) program but in the work we do every day providing justice-involved individuals and communities with vital resources, barrier removal, and support in creating successful, life-changing outcomes for our clients.

A Multi-Generational Program that Endures

The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), operated by Felton Institute in San Francisco, has been our longest-running initiative.

Established in 1965, it matches older adults within childcare and school settings to help children with literacy and other developmental activities. The child-centric program provides an opportunity for children to connect with older adults.

For over fifty years, Felton Institute has fostered the educational endeavors of children and their families who have limited access to financial resources. The Early Care and Education programs (ECE) provide a cradle-to-college pipeline that strengthens families and allows for intergenerational collegiate success.

Felton ECE Preschool Graduates!

Felton’s Early Care and Education (ECE) programs celebrated its 14th Annual Preschool Graduation Celebration at San Francisco State University! Families and staff were in attendance to cheer on the kiddos. The graduating preschoolers came from Felton’s Solmar Learning Center (SLC), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK), and Family Developmental Center (FDC). Congratulations!

SCSEP Debuts Billboard in Palo Alto

Felton Institute’s Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) recently received significant funding from the California Department of Aging for a major outreach campaign! Through this generous funding, we debuted our SCSEP billboard in Palo Alto, overlooking the 101 freeway.

The billboard advertises the SCSEP program that helps older adults transition back into the workforce. This billboard also marks the beginning of SCSEP’s expansion into San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties.
