There are so many things going on at Bloomingdale Public Library this month!
It's time for Summer Reading!

Bloomingdale Public Library's Summer Reading Program runs June 1-July 31, 2021. We have challenges, programming, and fun for all ages!

Registration begins June 1. Here's how:

Teens
Sign up and log online, by phone (630-924-2730),
by email at bdref@mybpl.org, or in person.

For program details, challenges, and summer programming, visit our summer reading webpage, view our digital guide (the same that was mailed to each household in Bloomingdale), see our section of the Village Almanac, or stop in to pick up a guide in our lobby or at the reference desks in the library.

We’re excited to announce a brand new way for students in grades 7-12 to volunteer their time! All of the volunteer opportunities and activities can be completed online or at home, and logging your time is online as well. This way, you can earn your service hours (and help your community!) as safely as possible. Students can earn up to five service hours this summer. Create your account and start volunteering here: www.mybpl.org/summerservicehours

Activities include:
No Sew Fleece Blanket for Almost Home Foundation
Paracord Bracelet for Operation Gratitude
Create Post Cards for Troops and First Responders
for Operation Gratitude
Cards of Hope for Phil’s Friends
Write Birthday and Christmas Cards
for Local Bloomingdale Nursing/Assisted Living Homes
Enjoy a new Take and Make project in June! Email Katie Yager, Teen Librarian, at kyager@mybpl.org to register for your kit on the date listed.
Take part in a virtual scavenger hunt each week for a chance to win an e-gift card! Winners will be announced when the scavenger hunt closes. One entry per teen. See the Teen Calendar on our website for details.
Thursdays, June 3 & 17
7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Join us for a themed piano show for the whole family via Facebook Live!

The video stream will be posted on the library's Facebook page shortly before the show starts at 7:00 p.m. You can request songs via the comments section (Facebook account required to request songs, but not to enjoy the show).
