Dozing off in a dental chair—a seemingly unremarkable act is a red flag. In a Journal of the American Dental Association article, RSDM researchers identified dentists as an unexpected player in the battle against life-threatening sleep disorders.

Beginning with a White Coat

Our Class of 2028 received white coats as they started working towards earning their DMD degrees to become dentists. At the event, three students from the upper classes received the school’s Professionalism Award.

Global Reach

Crossing the Atlantic for RSDM Externship

RSDM hosted two students from Ireland for a two-week externship this summer. These opportunities provide dental students from abroad to get exposure to dental school in the United States. Besides Ireland, RSDM also has externships with universities in Albania, Spain, Chile, and India.

Dean Cecile A. Feldman has been awarded the American Dental Education Association's Willliam J. Gies Award for Eminence in Vision and Leadership Award!

A big thank you to Foresight leaders for their incredible work during orientation! They organize events, provide study tips, and guide the newest class starting from the first days of their RSDM journeys.

RSDM, along with New Jersey Medical School and the School of Health Professions, went to Saint Benedict's Prep School's health professions fair, where hundreds of 7th to 12th graders got a chance to talk with our faculty and third-year student Adriana Atiencia (center) about dental school and careers in dentistry.

RSDM resumes its old, but newly named "Café Connections" event for faculty and staff to gather and connect held every month.

The next event is on October 2 at the Oral Health Pavilion.

Jill York (right), assistant dean for extramural clinics, and Cheila Garcia (left), administrative coordinator, attended the National Ryan White Conference in Washington, DC. York was a speaker and panalist at the event. They also met Jeanne White-Ginder (center), Ryan White's mother, whose courage and love created a legacy of hope.

Clinical Professor Paul Rosen (pictured) and Director of Research Georgios Kotsakis attended the 2024 AAP/AO Joint Consensus Conference on Peri-Implantitis. Rosen was one of the two symposium chairs. Forty renowned specialists came together and developed recommendations establishing new clinical guidelines for peri-implantitis.
