How can the City of Lafayette best help local businesses recover from the pandemic?
Local business owners and non-profit operators who have Lafayette addresses are invited to give their input via a short survey about how the City of Lafayette should use funds via the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to aid in our community’s economic recovery and development.
Survey closes TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT - August 31, 2021. All eligible businesses and non-profits that complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card.

City of Lafayette Mission Statement Workshop
Tuesday, August 31, 2021, 6pm, Zoom
Join a special General Plan Advisory Committee session to review the draft vision and mission statements alongside community members. Start the conversation with your neighbors to discuss if the drafts reflect what matters most in setting a vision for the City.
GPAC members will use your feedback to further craft a recommendation to the City Council on the mission and vision statements that will guide Lafayette's future.

Eligible Non-profits and Small Business Can Apply for the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program
The State’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program provides grants from $5,000 to $25,000. Round 8 is only for non-profit cultural institutions that meet eligibility criteria; Application window is August 27 through September 8. Round 9 will be the final opportunity for businesses or non-profits to submit a new application. The Round 9 application window is September 9 through September 30.
Lafayette-based non-profits and businesses interested in applying for this statewide grant opportunity are encouraged to register for the City’s Business Assistance Program to received one-on-one help with this and other grant applications.

Lafayette Community Foundation's Business Partners Program
The Lafayette Community Foundation (LCF) is pleased to introduce its new Business Partners Program that invites local businesses to invest in the work that LCF does to support local nonprofits.
LCF asks local businesses to consider a partnership by becoming a business sponsor. This tax-deductible donation will make a direct impact on organizations that support those in need while providing our business partners the opportunity to achieve their own philanthropic goals.
Whether it is at the Platinum ($10,000), Diamond ($5,000), Gold ($2,500) or Silver (1,000) level, LCF is grateful for your support and looks forward to working together to provide the greatest amount of assistance to organizations that make a difference in our community.

Leadership Contra Costasm
Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, Leadership Contra Costasm (LCC), the Bay Area's premier countywide leadership program, accepts 25-32 individuals from throughout the county with diverse backgrounds to participate in the program. LCC is geared to people who want to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. For 34 years Leadership Contra Costasm has been helping identify and prepare community leaders. With an alumni roster of more than 800 graduates, including former Walnut Creek Mayors Cindy Silva, Loella Haskew, Justin Wedel, and Kathy Hicks, former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach, former Concord Mayor, Lou Rosas; Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder; and Ret. Superior Court Judge Harlan Grossman, this program has proven to be an asset to the community and society.
The eight-month program takes an intensive day-long look into:
Health & Aging, The Price of Justice, Business & Economics, Environment, Education
Social Justice, Government & Politics, and Housing & Transportation.

Be Water-Wise: Realities and Practicalities

Join a Zoom conference presented by the Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 9, 6:45 pm. The program will include Landscape Designer Pam Green’s tips for saving trees, and a presentation by EBMUD representatives Anya Kamenskaya and Ben Glickstein who will provide current information on the local water situation and how Lamorindans can participate in basic water conservation, both indoors and outdoors.
