Our class has been meeting for many years. The class was started when our children were pre-school age. Now, with a few exceptions our children are out of the house, many are married and have their own children.
We primarily study scripture, but we do study other topics like the origin and meaning of old hymns that we grew up singing. During the church year, we use study materials on Lent, Easter, Advent and other topics.
Currently, we are studying the book of Luke. We started with Luke 9:51 where Luke stated that Jesus realized that the time had come for Him to return to the glory of the Father (Mark 16:19, Act 1:2, I Timothy 3:16). Luke maintained that Jesus “steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem” (KJV). This was the beginning of the last year of the ministry of Jesus leading to his Crucifixion and Resurrection. We are studying the parables, miracles and interaction that Jesus had with the Pharisees along the way.
We meet in the CAC – Room 201. We try to start around 9:45 with prayer requests and praises. Our meeting is available via zoom, if you desire to join us that way.
