Septic-to-Sewer Program call for projects period is open
The Septic-to-Sewer Program will assist local governments and authorities with constructing viable wastewater treatment systems to enhance public health and prevent groundwater contamination. The application deadline is Friday, July 2, 2021. Read more

GEFA welcome two new staff members to our team:

Staff highlight: Amanda Carroll
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in a little town called Baconton, Georgia.

Q: Where did you go to college?
A: I received my associate's degree in pre-engineering from Darton College, and I received my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Q: What do you do for GEFA?
A: I am a senior project manager in the Water Resources Division.

Q: How long have you worked for GEFA?
A: In 2005, I started at the Georgia Environmental Protection Division in the Construction Management Unit (CMU). CMU moved to GEFA in 2014. So, I have been with GEFA for seven years and with the state for a total of 16 years.

Q: What has been your favorite project at GEFA so far?
A: I really enjoy the opportunity to manage contracts that have a huge impact across the state.

Q: What is your favorite memory from this past year?
A: In October of 2020, my husband and I traded our 2006 fifth wheel camper for a 2021 model. We love camping with our daughter every chance we get. These are memories she will always take with her.

Q: What is something most people do not know about you?
A: I love planting flowers. Planting them and watching them grow and bloom is very therapeutic to me.

Q: What is the best advice that you have ever been given? Who was it from?
A: "Mean what you say, say what you mean, without being mean." - Mr. Harvey Coleman.
