LAEP Collaborates with Starbird Food Chain for Teacher Appreciation

Los Angeles Education Partnership is teaming with burgeoning food chain Starbird to celebrate educational leaders this May with a promotion geared to help strengthen the learning community during Teacher Appreciation.

Throughout the month of May, online Starbird customers will be able to make a $5 donation to LAEP to advance educational equity and help facilitate access to quality educational and wellness practices so that children thrive from diapers to diplomas.

Starbird will extend a special offer during Teacher Appreciation Week, from May 6 to May 10, when teachers with a valid education ID can enjoy a complimentary entree item in any Starbird restaurant.

Community Schools Students Receive Backpacks, Supplies, College Advice

Students at our Community Schools program at Emerson Middle School received a special visit from volunteers of the Cal Poly Pomona Society of Accountants (CPSA) as they shared accounting knowledge and college advice.

The young scholars participated in activities and were gifted backpacks with school supplies.

Community Schools participants receive access to programs that help them prepare for success in college and career.

Early Head Start Graduates Receive Diplomas

LAEP celebrated two classes of Early Head Start Spring Graduates as young achievers gathered with their families to commemorate the completion of their programs! Families came together for ceremonies At New Star Justice Center and Miramonte Elementary School where they received diplomas and congratulations from LAEP staff and community members.

The EHS program enriches parent skills and empowers parents to be early childhood and educational advocates. The future is looking bright!
