TREASURER'S NOTE

Dear Friends of Trinity,

Happy Spring to all!

Did you know we are close to completing $110,000 worth of Capital Improvements to our building?

[Editor's Note: $110,000 is not a typo. Yes, you read that right - $110,000.]

This includes $80K for the Soup Kitchen Exhaust Hood and $30K for safety and security expenses necessary to be the Homeless Shelter. About 80% of these funds came from Grants and the rest from local organizations and some individual donations. I will let Jessica Magda, the grant writer, fill you in on who really came through for us to pay for these projects.

We ended the first quarter of 2024 with a surplus of $35K. This is largely due to people who make their pledges for the entire year early in the calendar year.

Our Cash Balance in the Operating account is strong at $87K. The Endowment is doing well and stands at $1,077K.

We have formed an official Finance Committee. Current members are Jessica Magda, Gary Grant and me. If you are interested in being a part of this committee let any one of us know.

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED!

Everybody loves Coffee Hour, but it isn't possible without one or two volunteers each week to make it happen. It doesn't take much, and we will show you how to do it.

Please sign up in the Upper Parish Hall.

Please join us after Coffee Hour time for a VERY open and free wheeling Bible Study conversation on Sunday May 19, 2024.

We will read and discuss the Lessons, Psalm and Gospel for the next week. Copies of the readings will be provided.

A SPECIAL FORMATION PRESENTATION

Join in a discussion of the incredible book, “On the City of God Against the Pagans” by St Augustine of Hippo.

Parishioners will lead a discussion on this incredible work, commonly known as "The City of God." Don’t worry - they have all read it so you don’t have to!

Join us after Coffee Hour starting on Sunday, June 9, 2024 for the historical context of the work.

Subsequent weeks will have different topics presented. Stay tuned!
