FRESH PICKS OF THE WEEK
From the Field
Cabbage Throw Farm
First Garlic!
This week at Cabbage Throw Farm, it was all about garlic! With the help of family and some awesome volunteers, all of the garlic crop has been harvested! Fresh Garlic will be making its first appearance until the rest of the crop cures over the next few weeks. Garlic scapes and fresh onions are also still available along with zucchini, basil, sunflowers, fresh lavender bouquets and a small supply of cucumbers! Also coming to market this weekend: carrots, beets, kohlrabi, red & green cabbage, Napa cabbage, escarole, lettuce, spring mix, spinach, and more.

Need a quick, easy and cold recipe for the holiday? Try confetti-colored slaw! Shred spring green and/or red Cabbage, crunchy purple kohlrabi, and carrots and toss in cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, celery seed, olive, salt & pepper and sunflower seeds. Perfect for topping bratwurst, burgers, tacos, or just as a side dish!
Scholl Orchards
Just Peachy!
It's that time of year that we all dream about (especially in the dead of winter)... PEACH SEASON at Scholl Orchards. Yes, it has begun! Come load up on juicy, just-picked peaches along with sweet, and sour cherries - perfect for your 4th of July pie! Look for lots of veg too including cukes, peppers, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, and potatoes. And if you like cider, this is the LAST week it will be available until September!
Phillips Farm
Berrylicious
Squash blossoms at Phillips Farms have become a customer favorite at EFM - get yours this week! You'll also find lots of favorites for your Holiday BBQ including blueberries, raspberries, cherries and maybe even some peaches. Other produce to check out include zucchini, cucumbers, garlic scapes, shelled peas (so yummy), sugar snap peas, greenhouse tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, bok choy, fresh herbs and so much more.

Salvaterra's Gardens
Walla Walla Wow!
New this week is the first harvest of red potatoes and big sweet Walla Walla onions! Walla Wallas are the vidalias of the North and boast a juicy, sweet mildness. Fun fact- the sweetness is actually not due to sugar, but rather to low sulfur content, which is half that of an ordinary onion. Less sulfur means less “bite” and no tears! A thick slice of Walla Walla is perfection on a sandwich or burger! All that juicy sweetness means Walla Wallas don't store for very long, so enjoy them now before they're gone until next year!

Salvaterra's full line-up includes: head lettuce (red leaf, green leaf), lettuce mix, arugula, kale (tuscan, green, red), collards, Swiss chard, dill, cilantro, parsley, pea shoots, microgreens, scallions, red radishes, red beets, hakurei turnips, carrots, fennel, escarole, zucchini (green and yellow), tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green cabbage, napa cabbage, and broccoli.
Holy Cow

Made with coffee butter, roasted coffee oil and ground espresso beans, it will exfoliate while giving you a rich lather. She also makes a Coffee Bean Sugar Scrub (natural sugar, coffee butter and ground espresso beans). The Licorice Hand and Body Soap has poppy seeds that work as an exfoliant too. The 'Wake Up' bar has less exfoliant but the rosemary and spearmint essentials also make a great morning bar of soap!!

PROTECT YOUR PUPS!
Hey folks, we love having your furry friends at the market, but please keep in mind that the sun is intense on Larry Holmes Drive. In recent weeks we've seen a lot of dogs desperately seeking shade beneath vendor tents. We'd suggest bringing your pups early in the morning, or bringing a companion so one person can hang out with the dog in the grass and the shady areas under the trees while you shop. Water bowls are available at Pie + Tart, The EFM Merch Tent, and Bella's Bistro.
