[Workshop] Engaging Youth Through eGaming

The 2021 School's Out, Make It Count Conference will feature more than 50 workshops designed specifically for out-of-school time professionals. Eight of these workshops will focus on STEM learning.

One of the featured STEM workshops is Engaging Youth Through eGaming, presented by Parker Gore with the City of Goodyear. eGaming has the potential to engage and create demographically diverse communities online. The City of Goodyear’s Stream Team will cover how to create a digital audience through eGaming and streaming. In the digital age, video games explore and cultivate social characteristics that enable gamers to interact, play, and communicate with other players.
The Science at Play in the Paralympics
Repost from The Connectory

At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Allysa Seely made history by winning a gold medal in paratriathlon’s debut as a Paralympic medal event. Allysa will be competing again in this year's Tokyo Paralympic Games, which run from August 24 through September 5, 2021.

Allysa's story has a great STEAM connection. Alyssa lacks proprioception, the ability to sense her body's position and self-movement. Watch this video, "The Biomechanics of a Paratriathelete," which explores how Allysa works with a team of doctors and specialists behind the scenes to ensure that her running gait is the best it can be.
