Dear Residents –
Don't let those cloudy blue skies fool you. Tonight promises to be a whole other story. If the weatherman is to be believed, we are expecting 20 to 25 mile per hour winds (with gusts up to 45 mph) late Saturday through Monday and approximately 1 to 3 inches of rain. Clearly, storms that begin with an I must be taken seriously, so please prepare for the worst and hope for the best! Stay safe my friends!
Many of our local roads are finally being paved (thank you, Orangetown Highway Department), so please take it easy going through parts of Blauvelt, Tappan and Pearl River. While it may seem to be taking up a lot of your time, for the safety of our highway workers and your fellow motorists and pedestrians, slow down, take the detours and remember, this will soon be behind you and we'll be left with smoother streets!
Filming will be taking place in Depot Square on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. There will be a few detours through Sparkill, so please heed the detour signs and the police officers who have been assigned to work the area. Your cooperation will help make travel easier for everyone.
Although it is not till Wednesday, October 5th, I would like to take this opportunity to wish my friends, who celebrate Yom Kippur, "an easy fast."
Have a great weekend everyone and mind Tropical Storm Ian. I hear he can pack a nasty punch!
On behalf of Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny,
Carmel
