St. Louis Catholic School Newsletter

May 9, 2024

Dear St. Louis School Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we dive into another week of learning and growth together. This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all of our dedicated educators who pour their hearts into guiding and inspiring our students each and every day. Their unwavering commitment to excellence is commendable, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and caring team here at St. Louis.

In addition to honoring our teachers, I also want to recognize Mrs. Aguilar and Mrs. Descovich, our school nurses, and Mr. Nagel, our security officer, who play vital roles in keeping our school community safe, healthy, and supported. We want to express our appreciation for all they do to ensure the well-being of our students and staff. Please know that many of you have already shown deep appreciation with lovely gifts of food, cards, flowers, and other tokens—we are incredibly blessed with such a warm and supportive community.

In other exciting news, I am thrilled to share that four of the eggs in our preschool have hatched, and adorable chicks are now a part of our daily learning environment until May 15th. It's been a joy to witness the wonder and excitement on the faces of our students as they observe the growth and development of these little creatures.

A reminder, that the spring assessment window began this week and will continue through May 24th. I encourage our students to approach each assessment with confidence and a growth mindset. These assessments provide valuable insights into their progress and areas for further growth, and I have no doubt that they will rise to the occasion with determination and perseverance.

Looking ahead to next week, I invite you to join us for at least one of the different arts nights: Band/Chorus concert May 15th, or the art open house on Thursday, May 16th, or the production of Frozen, KIDS on May 17th—check below for specific times. Come enjoy some music, snacks, fellowship and a colorful display of artwork created by our talented students. The entire week is sure to be a wonderful celebration of our students’ creativity and achievements.

I know my May calendar is filling up quickly, and I imagine all of yours are as well. Don’t forget to pause and reflect on the blessings that surround us each day, enjoy your time with your families. All 4 of my children (who are not so little children anymore) will be home for a brief couple of days before my son deploys for 10 months—enjoy the moments because it goes fast!

Wishing you all a week filled with joy, laughter, and moments of inspiration.

Blessings,

Anne Dyke
