Are you searching for the perfect position in the Facility Management field? Look no further.....
Career Opportunities, Jobs, Resumes
The text of your listing should be within the body of the e-mail, and should not exceed approximately 75 words. We reserve the right to edit all submissions to fit formatting requirements .

  • IFMA Members: The service is free to IFMA Seattle members. The resume or employment opportunity will be posted on the website and in the monthly newsletter.
  • IFMA Non-Members: You may also send in job postings. If the job is for a facility manager or facility support, the service is free to non-members as well.

If the company is not a member and the position is not a facility job (i.e. sales, real estate), it is $50 for each job post on the website.

All listings are retained for 60 days; to extend this period, please resubmit upon expiration.

Note that for resume listings, you must be a current IFMA member. It will remain on the website for 60 days. Your resume may be part of the e-mail itself, or sent as an PDF.

To submit a job listing or resume, please send an e-mail to fawn@AMInc.org .
2019 Building Performance Reports
Now Online for Benchmarked Buildings
Building-specific performance profiles are now available for 2019 benchmarking data, along with an updated building energy performance map. Building data is accessible online for five years from 2015 to 2019.

The profiles show how well a building performed compared to peers, highlight trends in energy use since 2015, and summarize the building's impact on climate change. Users can also browse the performance map to filter buildings by energy use, building characteristics, or neighborhood.

Search for a building on the map here or download the raw data here.
Seattle Energy Benchmarking
Compliance Portal Live for 2020 Reporting

The City of Seattle has launched the Seattle Energy Benchmarking Compliance Portal to check compliance for 2020 Energy Benchmarking reports due July 1, 2021.
Once you have completed all the required steps to make annual updates and submit your 2020 benchmark report, you can check the compliance status on the
online portal. To check your compliance status you will need the OSE Building ID or Portfolio Manager User Name.

Not Compliant Status

If the building is "Not Compliant" the reason is listed under the Issue column. Common reasons for non-compliance are:
  • The benchmarking data in Portfolio Manager has not been shared with City of Seattle.
  • The benchmarking data in Portfolio Manager shared with City of Seattle is missing complete energy data for 2020.
  • The benchmarking data in Portfolio Manager shared with City of Seattle has been flagged for possible energy or building details errors and requires account verification.
Follow the directions in the Next Steps column to correct the issue. The Compliance Resources section at the top right of the portal provides guidance on how to address common issues in Portfolio Manager.

Compliant Status

If the building is "Compliant", your benchmarking report is complete, and you are all set for 2020 reporting. You'll need to report again next year so save your Portfolio Manager username and password. In the meantime, check out your building’s performance. Each building report includes data from 2015-2019 highlighting energy use trends.

Can’t find your building in the portal?

Tip: when searching by User Name you will only see buildings that have successfully shared their Portfolio Manager account with City of Seattle Annual Reporting. If you do not see all of your buildings required to report when searching by user name it is likely you have not completed the benchmarking process.
If you have recently purchased or taken over management of a building, or are no longer responsible for benchmarking the building in your Portfolio Manager account, let us know and we will update our records.

New Benchmarking Website!
If you have been to the Seattle Energy Benchmarking website recently you may have noticed it has a new look and feel. The revamped website features enhanced usability and efficient navigation. New additions include:
  • An Instructions page with sections specific to where you are at in the benchmarking process and key resources.
  • A Frequently Asked Questions page with answers to many common questions.
  • A News section on the homepage featuring program updates.

2020 Benchmarking Reports Due July 1
Energy performance (benchmarks) for the 2020 calendar year must be updated in Portfolio Manager by July 1, 2021 for all multifamily and non-residential buildings 20,000 SF or larger.

To be in compliance, your building’s Portfolio Manager account must be:

  • Updated with current space use details and accurate energy meter data
  • Able to generate a 2020 December ending Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and ENERGY STAR® score (if available), and
  • Successfully shared with the City of Seattle Annual Reporting Portfolio Manager account.

Once you have completed all the required steps to make annual updates and submit your 2020 benchmark report, you can check your building’s compliance status on the Seattle Energy Benchmarking Compliance Portal. Make sure to check out our COVID FAQ if your building use has been impacted by COVID.
IFMA Operations and Maintenance Survey
The time has come to update the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) North America Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Benchmark Report. This has been IFMA’s long-standing flagship O&M benchmark report for more than 40 years. This survey covers: janitorial, maintenance, sustainability and utilities.

All survey participants receive:
  1. The final report for FREE
  2. Facility operational and cost changes due to COVID-19
  3. The latest data on operations cost by facility use, sector, and location.
  4. Latest maintenance and janitorial staffing size benchmarks (FTEs)
  5. Data to make the case for better workspace utilization
  6. The information to compare total facility costs (maintenance, janitorial, utilities and sustainability) with peers

This survey will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete and closes in eight days.

You are able to save your progress and complete the survey in multiple sessions. To do so, submit your answers on a given page by clicking the red next ">>" button, and then close the window. Your progress will be automatically saved.
If you know of a facility manager that could benefit from involvement in the survey, please share this link with them: https://bit.ly/NorthAmericaOM.

Please contact Nick Rocha at research@ifma.org or + 281-974-5665, if you have any questions.
Building Tune-Ups
Tune-Up Deadlines and Updates
COHORT 3

75% of buildings in Cohort 3, non-residential buildings 70,000 – 99,999 SF, have complied with the Building Tune-Ups mandate. The remaining non-compliant Cohort 3 building owners must complete outstanding tune-up submittals demonstrating implementation and verification of required corrective actions by October 1, 2021 to avoid enforcement action. Cohort 3 building owners that fail to complete a tune-up by this date will be issued a Notice of Violation with an assessed fine of $2,000. See the Enforcement page on City of Seattle Website for additional information.

COHORT 4

Tune-up submittals for non-residential buildings 50,000 – 69,999 SF with implementation and verification of required corrective actions are due by October 1, 2021. After the deadline, there is a 180-day grace period allotted to complete the tune-up and required corrections before penalties are assessed.

If you own a building required to tune-up and have not started yet, see the Building Owners Guide for information on how to scope the work. Seeking a qualified provider to assist you? Northwest Energy Efficiency Council hosts a list of Approved Tune-Up Specialists
