The Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM) and the Primary Children’s Center for Personalized Medicine will be holding a joint symposium for all in the genomics community (faculty, trainees, and staff) and includes both internal and external speakers, as well as a poster session. Several morning talks may be of particular interest to those in Pediatrics.

Tuesday-Wednesday, June 4-5; All Virtual; 8 a.m.–1:15 p.m.

This two-day, all-virtual conference brings together leading experts and practitioners in the field to address prevalent issues facing pediatric healthcare providers today. From common ailments to complex conditions, the conference provides a platform for sharing cutting-edge research, best practices, and innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment.

COMPREHENSIVE CARE SERVICES

Are you caring for children with medical complexity? Our Comprehensive Care team is eager to help.

 

The Comprehensive Care team is now available for inpatient and outpatient consultations at both SLC and Lehi Campuses!

 

A Comprehensive Care consult can assist with the following:

  • Chronic disease management of for children with medical complexity and disabilities
  • Collaboration and communication with medical teams to optimize care for children with medical fragility
  • Helping providers and families with complex decision making (e.g., scoliosis surgeries, tracheostomies, G-tubes)
  • Working with families and specialists on care coordination for equipment and supplies

 

We are fully staffed, accessible and ready to extend our reach and support the providers, families, and children with medical complexity in our region.


We are also available to come talk with your teams about this program and our services.

Announcements

ANNUAL OPEN ENROLLMENT: MAY 1 - MAY 31

The university's annual open enrollment runs from May 1 through May 31. Elections made during open enrollment will be effective July 1, 2024 for the plan year that ends on June 30, 2025.


Open enrollment is your opportunity to change your medical and dental options, add or remove dependents, enroll in a Flexible Spending Account, enroll in basic life insurance, and enroll or cancel your participation in the group MetLife Legal Plan.


This year, it's also the time to enroll in some exciting new insurance benefits: Vision, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Critical Illness Insurance - in addition to Pet Insurance and Identity Theft Protection.


During open enrollment, you will be able to make elections through UBenefits.


Flexible Spending Account (FSA) deductions will begin on the July 5, 2024 paycheck. To participate in FSA, you must reenroll each year, even if you want to keep the same election amount. New health plan rates and WellU participation changes will be reflected on the July 22, 2024 paycheck.

2024 GARY C. SCHOENWOLF MENTORSHIP AWARD: CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Gary C. Schoenwolf Mentorship Award celebrates pediatric faculty members who embody the letter and spirit of mentorship. Award recipients are recognized for their sustained career commitment to mentoring, their positive impact on their mentees' careers and, through the efforts of their mentees, advancing research and patient care. This research mentoring award is based on the training experiences and success of the nominee's mentees, rather than the mentor's personal career achievements.
