The Book of Common Prayer lists Independence Day as a major feast of the Church. Our annual observance is this Sunday, July 3, when we'll use the assigned readings for Independence Day, sing national songs, and celebrate with a potluck barbecue lunch after the 11:00 liturgy. It is always complicated to observe a civic political holiday as a religious holy day, and this year is perhaps more fraught than usual. The Prayer Book's treatment of national political life calls us to do at least three things: pray for those in authority, give thanks to God for the political good we have received, and work for the fulfilment and continual extension of the nation's best promises. However divided the nation may be, these are three things we can all do with determination and joy.

Dear Father Eric,
Thank you and everyone at Saint Paul's for your generous donations to Episcopal Relief & Development's Ukraine Crisis Response and US Disaster Relief Funds. We could not do the work we do without the support of Episcopalians and congregations, and we are truly grateful. Please pass along our thanks to the entire congregation.
Faithfully,
Josephine Hicks

Your generous non-pledged offerings (cash and designated checks) on the first Sunday each month support our clergy’s Discretionary Account. Fr. Eric uses these funds to meet urgent needs within our community, to further the ministries of the church when other funds are not available, and to support community programs and institutions that serve those in need.

Saint Paul's Weekday Greeter for the Church
Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM
|
The Church is open daily from 9 AM-3 PM for prayer and quiet reflection. To do that well in our neighborhood, we could use some volunteers who are on hand to greet people. Bring a book or your journal, or just enjoy the quiet time to reflect & pray yourself, and then welcome guests as they arrive. Please sign up using the link below. We're suggesting that volunteers work in teams, but that is not necessary. Contact the parish office with any questions.
