GOOD NEWS BEARS

Week of November 27, Vol 1, Issue 16

Dear St. David Families,

As we rapidly approach the end of November and welcome the festive season, we are excited to share the upcoming events from St. David.

This week, we look forward to a lovely appreciation for our staff hosted by the 4th/5th Grade Cohort. We are grateful for the room parents heading up the charge!

With some unforeseen scheduling conflicts, the Christmas Concert will be held in Rose Mello Hall instead of the church. This will mean No Willows on December 20th so that we may have time to set up the hall and make it showtime ready for your students.

This Friday, you should receive the December calendar which will include Spirit Days and when Willows will be closed. Please continue to sell your chocolate as we approach the end of our chocolate sales!

Yours in faith,

Ms. Medrano

WCEA ACCREDITATION VISIT 2024-25

We are preparing for our upcoming accreditation visit by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). This visit is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase the excellence of our school and the wonderful learning environment we provide for our students.

What is WCEA?

The WCEA is an organization that helps ensure the quality and effectiveness of Catholic education. They review and accredit schools to ensure they meet the highest standards of excellence.

Standard of Excellence Protocol: What to Expect

During our accreditation visit (2024-25 school year), the WCEA will evaluate our school based on the new Standard of Excellence Protocol. This assessment is all about celebrating what we do well and identifying areas where we can improve. It's like a quality check-up for our school! We'll have a team of experienced educators and administrators from WCEA visiting us, and they'll observe our classes, meet with staff, students, and parents, and review our school's operations.

Your Role in the Process

All members of our St. David community are encouraged to get involved and share their experiences. In preparation for this visit, there is a chance for everyone to have their voices heard, so please be open to sharing your thoughts and feedback in the survey.

Please communicate with Ms. Turner if you need more or to submit your chocolate monies. As a reminder, each family is required to raise a minimum of $300 to the fundraising activities which include the Chocolate Sales and Fun Run.

Calling classroom volunteers

ISO: ON-CAMPUS VOLUNTEERS

As most of you are already aware, we are in need of human resources. There are currently postings for an assistant in junior high.

As the days are cooling down and the coughs & colds are making its rounds, we are in need of subs and yard duty supervisors. Please email Ms. Turner (tturner@csdo.org) if you are interested in getting added to our subs and yard duty list. We will be creating a schedule and hosting an orientation soon!

ANNUAL CRAB FEED

The Crab Feed Committee have started planning for St. David's Annual Crab Feed! It will be held on February 10, 2024, 5:30-10:30 pm at Rose Mello Hall. Aside from the delicious crab, you can expect dinner, dancing, and raffle prizes! Buy a table for 8 and get a 5% discount on tickets. Put it on your calendars and hope to see you all there!
