Dr. Anthony Rosenzweig to lead AHA-funded consortium on inflammation's role in aging, obesity-linked diseases

The American Heart Association (AHA) has awarded $15 million over four years to support collaborative research by Michigan Medicine (MM), Northwestern University, and the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on understanding inflammation's role in aging and obesity-related diseases like heart failure and dementia. Led by Dr. Anthony Rosenzweig, teams from Michigan Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Oakland University, will utilize the grant to investigate cell senescence, targeting metabolism and inflammation pathways to reduce inflammation and improve cardiac health.
