ALBERTA JOBS NOW PROGRAM
Private sector businesses and non-profit organizations across all industries can apply for funding to reduce the costs of hiring and training unemployed or underemployed Albertans. Additional funding is available for hiring persons with disabilities.

Employers can:
  • apply for a grant to offset salary or training costs, or both, equal to:
  • 25% of a new hire’s salary up to $25,000 per employee
  • 37.5% of the new hire's salary up to $37,500 per employee with a disability
  • apply for up to 20 full-time new hires per intake period:
  • first intake: May 20 to August 31, 2021
  • second intake: September 15 to December 31, 2021
  • third intake: to be announced at a later date
  • choose to have payments issued in 1 or 2 payments:
  • 1 payment: up to 100% of the grant after new hires have been employed for 52 weeks
  • 2 payments:
  • half of the eligible grant paid when the new hires have been employed for 3 months
  • the other half paid when the new hires have been employed for 52 weeks

ALBERTA SME RELAUNCH GRANT
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 30TH
Organizations that had to close or curtail operations due to the pandemic, and experience a revenue reduction of at least 30 per cent, may be eligible for an additional $10,000 through the Government of Alberta’s Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant. Apply by June 30

CANADA EMERGENCY BUSINESS ACCOUNT LOANS EXTENDED UNTIL JUNE 30TH
The CEBA Application Period Has Been Extended. APPLICANTS HAVE UNTIL JUNE 30, 2021 TO APPLY FOR A $60,000 CEBA LOAN OR THE $20,000 EXPANSION

Eligible businesses facing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic are able to access a second CEBA loan of up to $20,000 – on top of the initial $40,000 that was available to small businesses. All applicants have until June 30, 2021, to apply for $60,000 CEBA loan or the $20,000 expansion. For further information visit ceba-cuec.ca.

In order to assist local business in gaining information on business opportunities with local municipalities, Wainwright Garrison etc., the Wainwright Economic Development Office will periodically send out business opportunities featured on   merx.com  and  buyandsell.gc.ca  that pertain particularly to Wainwright and area.

These are systems used by the Government for procurement of goods and services over $25,000.

CANADA EMERGENCY WAGE SUBSIDY
NEXT DEADLINE IS JUNE 17
Learn how the redesigned Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program can support your business. The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) helps employers impacted by COVID-19 to keep workers on their payroll or bring previously laid-off employees back to work. To ensure Canadian workers and businesses are in a better position as our economy safely re-opens, the Government has implemented changes to the CEWS that broaden the reach of the program and provide better targeted support.
STABILIZE LIVE MUSIC GRANT
The Government of Alberta and Alberta Music are partnering to support musicians and live music venues across the province through the Stabilize Live Music Grant. Musicians and industry professionals can apply for a one-time Individual Micro Grant of $1,500. For-profit music venues and businesses can apply for a one-time Music Business Innovation Micro Grant of up to $25,000. Applications open May 17, 2021. Visit albertamusic.org/grants for details.
