St. Mary's Visitation Parish School's Mission Statement

St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish School exists to direct children toward God and toward Christian Service to society through Catholic religious formation, academic challenge, and continuous improvement.

Reminder: there is No School October 6th or 7th.

No Virtual Backpack next week either!

Dear Families,

Our celebration for the Soles for Catholic Education Walk is only 15 days away! Home and School is planning fun things for our students to do at school on Friday, October 14.

If you haven’t donated, please think about helping us. Remember, that 100% of the pledge money you raise stays at St. Mary's. Your donation helps to support all the activities that Home and School plans for the year, as well as provide classroom funds for the teachers to support what they do for our students. Every donation of any amount is important to us!

Here is the Soles for Education packet with more information about the program and instructions for donating. Thank you for considering.

Finally, just as a reminder as you look at your calendar for October, school is closed next Thursday & Friday, October 6th & 7th. The teachers will be busy with faith and professional development. Enjoy the long weekend!

Blessings,

Mrs. Mary Tretow

Field Trips and Volunteering

A trip to the Zoo. Going to the Theater. A visit to the Fire Station or the Pumpkin Farm. These are some of the many experiences that most students remember even years after they leave school!

We're so glad to be able to offer such opportunities this year. Thanks for your prompt attention to completing field trip payment and permission slips as they are sent to you.

This is also a good time to remind you that if you wish to chaperone a field trip, you must have completed the Safe Environment training through the Archdiocese.

These training sessions are not online courses. They are mostly in-person sessions scheduled at various locations throughout the Archdiocese.

You must complete the three-hour session and a background check. Background checks also need to be updated every five years to remain valid.

Here is information about these sessions.

If you are wondering about your training/background status, or if you have any questions, please contact our Safeguarding Coordinator, Chris Kinzy - ckinzy@stmaryeg.org
