May 16th 2024

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

In honor and recognition of Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Month, this month’s Empower Hour will feature BACP Commissioner Ken Meyer chatting with Teresa Ging, CEO and Owner of Sugar Bliss.

In October 2007, Sugar Bliss launched the catering and delivery side of the business with 20+ cupcake flavors, and in January 2009, Sugar Bliss opened its retail location in Chicago’s Loop neighborhood. Since then, Sugar Bliss has expanded their product offerings to a variety of baked goods including cake pops, French macarons, cookies, brownies, morning pastries, gluten-free, vegan, and more. Additionally, Sugar Bliss has expanded beyond the retail store and now offers packaged cookies at retailers including Walgreens. Teresa shifted her career from the finance sector to attend the Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie program in Paris which ultimately led to the creation of the business. Most recently, Teresa received the 2023 NAWBO Corporate Women Achievement Award and 2023 BMO Harris Celebrating Women Award.

The candid conversation will cover the start of the business, career transitions, site selection, and industry engagement. The webinar will end with a Q&A for attendees to ask questions.
