Peak Hurricane Season
Peak hurricane season in Connecticut begins in mid-August and runs through mid-October.

Being prepared for inclement for emergency weather can help keep you and your loved ones safe, organized and informed during a weather emergency. 

What simple steps can you take today?


United Way of Connecticut 211 is a gateway to services related to emergency/disaster response and recovery as well as a statewide resource for emergency-related information collection and dissemination. In the event of a weather emergency, visit www.211ct.org or dial 211 from anywhere in the state for up-to-date information about emergency shelters and storm relief resources in your community.
 
211 also maintains several eLibrary papers that can help you get prepared and stay informed including: How to Prepare and Safely Weather a Hurricane/Tornado, and How to Prepare and Safely Weather a Flood.  
Access Health CT Special Enrollment Will Continue Until October 31!
Access Health CT (AHCT) is Connecticut's official health insurance marketplace. AHCT offers Connecticut residents and employers a range of quality, affordable health and dental insurance options from several health insurance partners.

Access Health CT opened a Special Enrollment Period from May 1 – October 31, 2021 for new and existing customers to take advantage of newly available financial help.

Enrollment Checklist: What do you need to complete an application?
Have this information for yourself and anyone in your household applying for coverage:

  • Dates of Birth
  • Social Security numbers
  • Visa, green card or immigration documents
  • Most recent W2 and/or Form 1040, Form 1099
  • Current insurance coverage
  • Paystubs, Profit & Loss statements, or other employment information to confirm income for everyone in your tax household
