Celebrating Five Years of Business Growth
In May of 2017, Ashdown Capital officially advanced from concept to business.

At the time, Ashdown founder Brad Kiendl had left his commercial banking position at a large international bank to try his hand as an entrepreneur. He envisioned a specialized approach that focused on working closely with business owners to help them navigate the complex commercial lending environment. Brad’s value add approach quickly caught the attention of local business owners and the business took off.
After a few short months, Brad was joined by former colleague, Ryan Turner. Following more than a decade in banking, Ryan had realized that the most satisfying part of his job was working directly with businesses to come up with the best possible financing to achieve their goals. He identified with the Ashdown Capital philosophy and culture and knew that the concept was worth leaving the nine-to-five for.
Before long some of BC’s top bankers were also ready to make the move. Today, Ashdown Capital is represented by a team of eighteen banking professionals located in two offices, Abbotsford and Victoria. They carry a wealth of experience, as well as strong, developed relationships with account managers and regional managers across financial institutions. These connections have enabled Ashdown Capital to partner it’s clients with the most suitable bank and account manager from day one. Since inception, the Ashdown team has closed 530 transactions, totaling more than $2.5 billion in financing to support businesses across BC.

It's hardly ever been easy, but the work has always been rewarding. And while the Ashdown team celebrates the five-year milestone and the successes of all it’s clients along the way, there is an understanding that this is just the beginning. Here’s to the next five years (and beyond!) of financing business growth.

Two-time Cypress recipient, David Marti. David continued to surpass expectations for growth in 2021, arranging some of the most complex and significant deals the team closed this year. David’s determination and dedication are unwavering, attributes that have been invaluable in such a tumultuous time.

He completed a portion of his BBA at National Taiwan University with the goal of learning international business. He continues to enjoy international travel for both personal and professional growth.
